Dirty, out dated and no car parking , had to park car away From hotel came back to a smashed window. Staff in helpful and book double room got a single room instead

Booked a room two weeks in advance, arrived the evening of the reservation to be turned away by the reception staff due the their being no rooms available. After showing my confirmation email, I was informed that booking through a third-party did not guarantee me a room for the night (although they took my money). So at 11.30pm I was left wondering around a busy city on a Saturday night with no where to stay, 2 hours away from home, with absolutely no help from the reception staff at all!

Nightmare booked a double room and on arrival was told there was only a twin room available. Room was clean and warm. The bathroom was clean but bath had flakey enamel.

Very good value for money place to stay in the heart of Coventry City Centre As an irregular regular of the Britannia Coventry, staying for a couple of nights every two months or I am pleased to report that I noticed improvements are being made and that on every visit the hotel gets better in terms of décor and maintenance yet there still remains much to do. The reception area does not present a fantastic first impression and I could believe that some potential guests would turn around at this point and not stay, however, then you would not be in receipt of a wonderful welcome by the hard-working yet very professional, efficient and friendly staff. The route to the room could be improved with the cleanliness of the lifts nearly always an issue for me, the new carpets in the corridors are a great addition. The room was first of all larger than most, it was nicely decorated and well maintained, new chairs, the television was very small and old but did the job. The bed had a very comfortable mattress with an okay duvet and pillows. The bathroom was again large, yet let the room down given its dated state, though the shower had brilliant water pressure and the room was exceptionally clean. The bar is OK, I have only had drinks and they were pricey but very good, can’t comment on the food but £13.50 pp for breakfast is expensive compared to say Travelodge or Premier Inn. The locatio is fabulous for the main bus station (across the road), the train station is a taxi or bus

It did not have any shampoo in the bathroom, very old fashioned room, no good heating. Bedroom just wasn’t it

The property is out dated, the beds are uncomfortable and old the bathroom wasn’t clean, at one point no hot water

Some of the reception/maintenance staff were excellent and very friendly, but one was not at all welcoming. Location next to the cathedrals seems ideal, but in reality the whole area seems to be a haven for users of illegal substances and similar. I would not stay there again.
