「It’s pretty remote kinda, they don’t have lights to lead you to the area from the road so it’s best to get there before it gets dark. The breakfast was good, there different variety especially with dinner. Staff was very nice & accommodating. My air conditioning wasn’t that cold but still enough for some air. 」

「The Retreat is gorgeous. The views of the Volcano and Lake are amazing. The pescatarian menu is perfect for vegetarians and pescatarians. All three meals are served. We did not have meals included but very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The pocket sized gathering places are charming - slider over looking lake, dining room and reception, the separate lounge area with tea and coffee looking into the jungle. The evening walk was fun. The property is on the top of a very steep hill...

「Very nice resort. Great views - you're one on one with nature there. The private villas are the way to go. Great staff, too. They also have their own private nature trail to investigate as well. Even though there was construction going on directly behind our villa it didn't impact our 3 night stay at all. I commend them for that. The villa was very clean, the glass shower to the outdoors is very cool. Some bugs were able to make their way in but nothing unreasonable. CR construction...

「omg this place is a paradise!! its such a small resort (like 30 rooms) however, it has like 8 pools, most of them thermal springs, the rooms are absolutely beautiful and the bathrooms are so spacious and clean! luxury and the staff is soooo nice! the breakast food was delicious!! 7 am breakfast everyday. we had dinner there once (not included in price) and that too was delicious. I honestly will book again, because i felt like i was in paradise!!」

「The view and the owner/hostess made our stay! The personal attention at breakfast was delightful. This feels more like renting a villa with a morning chef than like a hotel. There are a couple good restaurants at the bottom of the hill for dinner. The drive to La Fortuna is 30 minutes. Be aware there is no air conditioning. There are windows with screens on 3 sides of the villa so the breeze is nice. In the morning you’ll hear a beautiful symphony of birds. I would stay here again.」
