“The best hotel great service prime location”

“Excellent property right in the centre of Funchal. We stayed in the top floor apartment V, which had a lovely balcony that has a side view towards the see and sunshine from midday. The kitchen is full of all utensils and cleaning products. Tupperware came in handy to take on hikes with you. There are a couple of points to note. There is no lift so you need to make sure you can climb plenty of steps. The mattress is quite firm and the building carries the noise so you can hear a lot of things……

“We were greeted warmly upon our arrival by staff. The room was kindly upgraded and was beautiful. We were offered a welcome drink and some Madeira wine in our room. We opted for an additional breakfast, there was confusion as I was under the impression this was included in the original booking. The turn down service was excellent. The spa was lovely although no locker was offered to us. The outside pool is a wonderful attraction. The main issue we had was an event celebrating fireworks - viewing……

“Prachtige accomodatie, heel centraal gelegen in Funchal met parkeergelegenheid, heel vriendelijk personeel, fantastisch ontbijt, geweldige roof top bar met zwembad en sauna. Een echte aanrader dus!!”

“This hotel was beautiful. Staff always on hand to help. I received an upgrade and the room was amazing! The location was great with lots of places to eat around the area. The hotel also did nightly buffets with entertainment. I would 100% recommend and will be returning myself next year.”

“We were forced to book this hotel last minute due to a cancelled flight and no other options. It was incredibly expensive and not worth the cost. The hotel is very old and outdated and the wifi does not work. We were able to check in late and the room was clean but I would not stay there again for that price. Definitely taking advantage of low inventory on the island”

“Alles hat mit Eingangscodes funktioniert, sodass man keinen Schlüssel bei sich tragen musste. Die Kommunikation und der Service war gut. Hatten einen kleinen Defekt, welcher innerhalb weniger Stunden repariert wurde. Die Ausstattung des Appartements reicht vollkommen aus. Die Messer könnten erneuert werden”
