"Weird self-check-in arrangement--no reception desk or staff, just an e-mail with a code to let yourself in & out and a phone number in case you need anything--very impersonal, but o.k. if you don't like dealing with people. Fresh, tidy, and trendy inside. Bedside reading lights and a chair to sit on would be nice (stools at the counter are too high for tying shoes), as would a light outside the door that doesn't attract bugs. "We’ve been coming to Cedar Point for many years. We wish we would have chosen South Shore Inn much sooner. We had a PERFECT two-night stay with them recently and will now use them as our first choice for lodging in Sandusky. Everything exceeded our expectations: immaculate rooms, comfortable beds, good food selection for breakfast, easy access with ample parking, friendly and helpful staff, well maintained property. We didn’t use the pool or other outside areas, but they all looked clean and inviting. The entire property felt very safe. Looking forward to our next stay!"

"Castaway Bay was AMAZING!!!! My 4 granddaughters had the best time!!! Staff friendly and accommodating, indoor water park was so fun and full of different activities. I can't say enough about the lifeguards.....professional and experienced, always attentive. Activities every day dance arties, bingo, arcades, bowling, roof top deck plenty of places to eat and get treats.....We will definitely book again next June!!!!!"

"Super friendly, lovely staff who went above and beyond to help and make us feel welcome. We loved the pool and the pancake maker was amazing. The rest of the food for breakfast was not anything to write home about, but enough to keep everyone happy. The kids loved the pool. They also put in the effort to have bed bug covers on, which is a big deal to someone who has previously gotten bed bugs from hotels in the past. We loved it here. Thanks for a great time!"

"I was very impressed with hotel Avalon. I was kinda worried when I booked as it was the cheapest cost in the area, however everything was better than expected by far. The room was very clean and the pool was really nice and clean. Don't go in expecting a 4 star hotel but for a 2 star hotel it is extremely nice. Definitely will be staying again as it is also extremely close to cedar point."
