When I walked into my room at the Super 8 in Ellenton after a long day at the beach, and a cockroach decided to take a stroll across the pillow, my family and I were definitely grossed out. “We had a great time, beach access was awesome pool area was nice super close to John’s Pass, we walked with small kids no problem. ”

“When I checked in on Friday afternoon, I asked the customer checkin person if there was going to be live music that night. He said yes. I also asked him if I could extend my stay by one day. He said the hotel was full for Saturday night. As it turned out, there was no music. Also, the hotel was not full for Saturday night; I checked on-line to learn there were still rooms available for Saturday night. Just incredibly lazy responses that cost the hotel another night from me.”

“The Crystal Bat hotel was impeccably clean and dignified in its presentation. The grandeur from an earlier time was preserved. The buffet breakfast served each morning was fresh, delicious, and the chef was so amenable and he even prepared GF breakfasts for my husband who is celiac. The Hotel was quiet and amenities were many, including a beautiful pool with towels and sunscreen supplied, tea and coffee always available, and ice water. “I typically do not rate 5 starts but, this place was exceptional. They were super accommodating, even offering to give things like toothbrush and toothpaste if you forgot it. They have coffe all day, and a shuttle that takes you anywhere within 5 miles. The workers are very caring and helpful; my rental car battery died and they gave me a jump, saving me a $200 jump fee from turo. Best hotel in the area!!”

“We had a room overlooking the beach! Our room was very comfortable. Amazing staff. Very accommodating. Our room was very clean. We would highly recommend this resort to families! They have so much for the children to do. I'm excited to go back again and enjoy St Pete's beautiful beach!!”

“Services in room, replenishment, toiletries, towels etc not done. The older was rundown. Moving to the newer tower was an up charge of $175 per night. .Restaurant evening service poor. Vanessa pool side service was excellent! Beautiful beach could have had more amenities than just towels and umbrellas. For example food and drink service on the beach. We would not stay at that location again and we would consider other Opal properties. ”
