“This spot was awesome! The neighborhood didn’t have a great reputation with the locals but we honestly had no problems at all staying on this part of the island. The hosts were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed and even offered lots of really great recommendations for things to do while we were there. There isn’t a lot in the way of shops nearby, but they do have the essentials– a quick mart, gas, and even a pizza place. Very quiet and the stars at night are unmatched. The yurt……

“Lehua looked great in the add and was far better in person. We loved our stay-and seriously considered asking if we could stay longer. “LLC” had everything we needed and more-we were able to cook all our meals in a delightfully comfortable setting. Coqui frogs, though invasive, were a lovely treat to fall asleep to at night. We were unbelievably close to Volcanoes NP, for the fountaining lava and close enough to summit Mauna Kea! We are deeply grateful to our hosts thoughtful outfitting of……

“Lovely cottage in the middle of volcanoes rainforest. A very comfortable and relaxing place to serve as a home base while exploring the park. Appreciate all Kathryn's assistance before and during our stay. Hope to return in the future.”

“Excellent accomodations! The day we arrived was rainy and the Treehouse was so cozy, perfect to curl up and read a book. The location was excellent for hiking Volcano thee next morning and then popping back at night to see the lava. Also great location for visiting Panalu'u, a black sand beach with turtles!”

“It’s about 3 miles from the park. It’s about one mile of unpaved road to the house and it’s tricky to find at night. There are food, market, and gas options super nearby. It’s beautiful and quiet amd the perfect retreat to end a very active day ”

“Hale Sweet Hale was the perfect little getaway for our family of four. We loved the twin beds for our children. The hot tub was welcomed after a long day of hiking in Hawaii Volcanos National Park. We felt like we were in the tropics with all the beautiful flowers and foliage around us! We enjoyed our stay!”
