South London Pet-friendly Holidays

I have been using this Mercure hotel for around 13 years for work and non work stays in London. It’s in a good location to get to where I want to go. The hotel has been improved over the years and the staff never fail to be helpful and polite. And in general I find it a good hotel to stay at. A plus point for me are the refillable water bottles in your room. However, there are some small touches that seem an insignificant, can be tad irritating when not done e.g. only one glass in a room for 2, can’t get the TV to work and milk/coffee not refilled, plus after going down to the bar upon a late arrival for a ‘night cap’, to find the beer pumps are turned off at 11pm - no idea till you get to the bar. That said Aussie sounding (sorry if not!) chap on reception was very helpful and sorted the glass, TV and milk, with no quibbles.

The hotel’s location was excellent, just a 10 minute walk from Waterloo Station, making it incredibly convenient for getting around London and sightseeing. Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet was below expectations, with limited variety and quality compared to other hotels in a similar price range. The room layout was also quite unusual, with the toilet being completely separate from the sink and shower. While this may suit some guests, I found it impractical and less convenient for everyday use.

Great hotel, central and walking distance to all the main attractions. We were attending Wimbledon and found it ease to commute out there for the day. Hotel is clean, had fresh water and lovely biscuits in room, and lovely Rituals toiletries. Room was clean, spacious and with great air con which was necessary for the heat wave!

Upon arrival for our one night stay we were told that our room wasnt ready despite us being there 45mins past the check in time, so we were invited to have a cocktail in the bar whilst we wait, not a big deal. Then a few more things went wrong, we were sent to the wrong room then the correct room wasnt what we booked. So a pretty disappointing start but with the help of 2 lovely staff members Joe and Ryan, they not only resolved the issues but as an apology far exceeded our expectations and this ended up being one of the best staycations we have had in london. So thank you Joe, Ryan and the sea containers
