Bonner Bridge is one of North Carolina's most well known man-made structures of it's kind (The Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway is probably the most well known). This location makes for a great getaway at the Outerbanks to spend an entire day (and night). The location is popular for fishing and is ideal for landscape and astro photography. You can have lots of fun on some of the dunes, although getting the sand out afterwards is a big hassle.

This is one of my favorite images from this location. I love the warm light tones and the shadows that create a contrast in the foreground sand. It is created from a single exposure with only minor modifications made to adjust overall contrast and brightness.

If you are interested in wildlife, the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a very popular location.

“During our stay, the elevator was completely out of service, and we had to climb the stairs many times. In the breakfast room, one of the younger waiters had a very bad attitude and was extremely slow, except for one staff member who was fine. The air conditioner in the room was extremely loud. If you’re not a heavy sleeper, I really wouldn’t recommend staying here—you’ll feel like you’re sleeping on a train all night.”

“I have been to Myrtle Beach plenty of times, but this was one of the best places I have been to in Myrtle Beach! The room was spotless and had a balcony that overlooked the ocean, so we spent most of the time in the room with the door open and the A/C off. The indoor lazy river pool with its waterfall was a nice touch. We will definitely stay here again!”

“Amazing stay! Very clean, friendly staff. The buffet breakfast included was probably the best I have ever had. Great variety. Happy hour was great for both the adults and kids. Great snacks during that time. The waterpark and pool area was beautiful. The hardest part was finding a spot. The pool chairs were taken right away. The restaurant/brewery next door was really good. Nice atmosphere. The free shuttle service was great for heading into town to grab some things we forgot. Would hands down……

“The unit at Ocean Watch Villas was perfect for our golf trip! It’s very clean and the property was extremely well maintained.
