"Loved this hotel and location! If you are doing mostly sightseeing around London, this is the perfect location. It's nestled between the City of London (Tower Bridge, St. Paul's, etc.) while still being very accessible to all the other big sightseeing attractions like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, etc. Room is very small, but again, not a big deal if all you are doing is sleeping in it."

"Having stayed a good few times at work, I was pleased to see the addition of the self check-in system, which we used. Unfortunately, two of the keys (out of three) didn't work, and therefore we spent a fair bit of time sorting this out. A great idea - might need better instructions or to check it's working 100% of the time."

Vintry & Mercer Hotel - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

10/10 Excellent
"We normally stay in a well known hotel on the south bank, but thought we would give Vintry & Mercer a try as it is part of SLH. It really is fantastic - rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated, very thoughtful touches such as a 'extras' bag in the bathrooms with make-up remover and hand cream, a room fridge where the contents are free with coke/fruit juice/real milk for your tea and coffee, the beds were really comfy, the whole hotel is very tasteful and there is a downstairs cocktail/snug bar which is really homely with low lights and serves food and drink I think until 1am - I could keep going. The reception staff were also excellent. We were in London for a show and this one night for our 28th Wedding Anniversary and were glad we stayed here. We will definitely make this our new go-to London Hotel - sorry to say farewell to the well known one on the South Bank."

Sea Containers London

Sea Containers London

10/10 Excellent
"We just finished a 6-night stay at Sea Containers London and thoroughly enjoyed it, with just a few minor quirks worth mentioning. First, the good: this is a very nice hotel in the heart of central London, right on the River Thames, with walking distance to shops, restaurants, a museum, the London Eye, theaters, a comedy club, and public transportation. The staff were very accommodating, and the rooms were modern and clean. A few small quirks: we had to request ice and face cloths daily rather than having them replenished automatically (perhaps a cultural difference), and the bed was quite firm for our taste. The biggest miss was that breakfast was actually included in our reservation, and since we'd booked weeks in advance, we completely forgot — a simple reminder at check-in would have been a nice touch. Even on the two days we did make it down for breakfast, the lines were quite long. We also weren't able to enjoy Happy Hour Lyaness bar or the roof top, as it was closed for private events during our stay. Overall, a lovely stay with great location and service, minor hiccups aside."
