“This is a gem of a place. Minimalistic with all the necessary stuff, neat and has a good view of the Arenal Volcano. Diana, the host was super helpful and attended to our needs. Loved staying here. It's also close to all the main attractions. Would definitely recommend. Thanks.”

“I totally love this place. I had a private room with bathroom, and it contained everything I needed - safe, fridge, desk, and a really comfy bed. Breakfast was great, staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and fun. I found that it's the sort of place where you can be really sociable if you want that, but also just sit quietly and be alone. There are hundreds of places to stay in La Fortuna, but when I return next year, I'll be booking La Choza again. The value for money is fantastic. ”

“Our stay at Calalun was perfect. Calalun was in the perfect location, was private surrounded by gorgeous landscape and a beautiful view of the volcano. The owners were very accommodating and made sure our stay was comfortable and perfect. The bed was comfortable and the quaint apartment was clean and modern. We had everything we needed and would recommend. The only suggestion would be to light up the Calalun sign a bit more or make it stand out from the road. The kitchen had all the necessities……

“If you are looking for a place to truly have a wonderful time with your spouse, and share a very special experience with incredible staff and ownership, this is your place. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate. We had a five course dinner prepared by a personal chef based on our preferences which I would rate as one of the best dinners of our lifetime. We had a stuffed avocado, prawns, seared tuna, seared Seabass, and delicious mousse dessert, prepared table side with incredible flavors. The……

“Great location. Short walk into the town. Staff was friendly and helpful. The cabins are a decent size and the bathroom is large with a good shower. However, when it rains, and it did, the noise on the metal roof is loud. Breakfast was good.”
