"This was our 4th stay in two years, and at this point we’re pretty sure we’ve officially found our vacation home. The hospitality and friendliness of the staff here is completely unmatched compared to any other resort we’ve stayed at—and we’ve stayed at quite a few. Right from check-in, two females absolutely set the tone. We were celebrating my wife's 39th birthday after our flights were cancelled due to bad weather. 10/10 welcome. The Playmakers are always a highlight, especially Cowboy—who somehow always knows when it’s our first day back and always manages to rope me into pool games. I don’t know how he does it, but I fall for it every time. Between the Playmakers and the staff overall, we genuinely feel like family when we stay. St. Patrick's Day at the Sexy Pool was 10/10. All the playmakers showed up in amazing costumes and on stilts. Throw in a foam party and I've never seen the pool that energetic. Great job everyon! Now, to keep it real—there are a few downsides (because perfection is suspicious). The buffet is… meh at best. We definitely prefer the Italian and Hibachi. We didn't look at room service options this time as, in the past, we don't enjoy the offerings. We’d love to see more tiered guestroom options when it comes to comfort. The rooms are fine, but we miss that “ahhh” moment—you know, when you walk in and instantly feel wrapped in plush, luxurious relaxation. One more note from the pool: the music. "We stayed at the Royal Cancun resort by Holiday Inn and overall had a very good experience. The property is well maintained, clean, and the rooms were excellent. The food was also very good, and what really stood out was the staff they were extremely helpful, friendly, and consistently went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. However, there were a couple of disappointing experiences that are worth mentioning. On our first day, we were approached by a sales representative and pressured into attending a timeshare presentation. This required us to travel to a sister resort and spend around two hours there. For first-time visitors, this felt inappropriate and quite intrusive. Guests should be able to relax and enjoy their stay without being pressured into sales presentations, especially for something as significant as a timeshare. Additionally, the tour operator on-site, Thomas More Travel, was another letdown. While one of our excursions was canceled last minute (we did receive a refund), the other excursion itself was fine. However, on the return journey, the driver made an unexpected stop at a shop selling souvenirs, tequila, and cigars. We later found out that the items sold there were overpriced and not authentic including the cigars and alcohol. This was very disappointing and felt misleading. "I came from one of the sister resorts - Ocean Marina and this resort was not nearly as nice, food was limited and not very good and the staff was not nearly as friendly as the staff at the marina resort. There was no room service here and I was "not allowed" to get a plate to go to my room. The gym was very small. I would not go back here after being at the other sister resorts (Marina and Royal)."
