"Very large hot springs resort that is very busy and commercial. Gorgeous setting. Restaurant had nice ambiance, good menu, and great staff. Basically it’s a lot of hot swimming pools. We even went on an off peak day and it felt overcrowded. It has its place in the hot springs world, but it lacks any sort of tranquility or calm that some of the more simple, natural, and humble properties have. "Our stay was superlative. The lodge is beautiful and comfortable and kept immaculate by the hosts. The hosts go out of their way to assure guests of a rewarding experience, sharing stories of their animals, who play a starring role at the lodge, cooking ample and individualized breakfasts, taking guests on scheduled or impromptu tours of their goat, chicken, llama farm. We also enjoyed the greenhouse where many herbs and flowers prosper. Our two days were restful and most enjoyable. "

"Proximity to Monarch Ski area and pass was very convenient. Hot tub was nice to come back to after skiing. The art and decor was local history and unique. We used the small kitchen and enjoyed the use of the stove, oven and microwave. pots and utensils to cook for four. The bunk beds in the hall were firm, but good for smaller children."

"We loved our weekend at Fox Den, which has the best mountain views. We didn't see any wildlife, but they are said to have bobcat, deer, elk, turkey, and even a moose family in the area! We'll just have to go back again to see the animals ;) The house is amazing and the area/property is very quiet - just what we were looking for. It's ideal for families and couples looking for a relaxing getaway. We can't recommend this destination enough!!! "

"This is a 1-bedroom house that's just a couple of blocks from Salida's creative district. The location cannot be beat. The unit was clean, but I thought the owners were a little obsessive about visitors *keeping* the place clean; this is the first time I've ever been asked to run a load of laundry and take out my own trash. I've also never before had a rental with a coffee machine that didn't have at least some coffee on hand. Be sure to bring your own."
