"While the advertisement is beautiful the resort is old and outdated. There is a ton of rust around the pool. The poolside equipment looks very dingy and you have to put a towel down. If you get a stain on the linens you will be required to pay for it. I was afraid to even be comfortable in the room. There was an additional per day charge for any extra person not included on the itinerary which was not stated on any prior correspondence. The food at the restaurant was okay. The rooms had a foul smell that we had to get air fresheners from Walmart to help. I would not recommend."

"Our stay was an excellent experience. The hotel provided transportation to and from the other location where the party happens. Riu Party was great every time we enjoyed it. Las Americas is a well kept, very clean hotel. The beach at the hotel is amazing and calm, the water extremely clear. The restaurants are great, you don't have to make reservations, except for the steak house, which was over hyped in my opinion the food wasn't as advertised. Other than that the other restaurants are excellent and the buffet even better. Santiago from the buffet at night was amazing to us. I would come back to Riu Palace Las Americas. "
