"My first option was to stay at Tahoe City's America Best Value Inn, as I usually do, but that place recently and permanently closed. This no-frill Pepper Tree Inn is also in need of renovation (old-style motel layout; slow elevator; some stains here and there; no breakfast; etc.), which is scheduled for later this year. Still a good value. "

"The property was very noisy when we arrived. It did get quiet in the evening.Great location. We had requested rooms together or close as we were senior traveling together to help each other. One room next door was vacant but we were told it was booked and had 2 single beds. We did say that would not be a problem. No one ever checked into the vacant room. We really do not like to be lied to. The person at the front desk always gave us a different story and was always a different person. "

"We love the shower it was so nice and the water wasn't hard. The things we didn't like was the room smelled musty everyday and the air conditioner never cut off and we had to keep adjusting thermostat. "

"We visited the area to see family. The property front desk clerk was professional and friendly. This property is perfect for those that want to enjoy the area and not be room bound. Bed was comfortable even if some items in the room are dated. It is reflected in pricing so I am not critical. The room was clean and orderly with small fridge (but larger than other places I have stayed) and microwave. You can see they are updating items as needed (newer toilet for example). "The service was excellent and check in/out was easy. The room was clean and well appointed with a nice balcony and terrific view of Lake Tahoe. We will stay here again (during the shoulder season when Tahoe rates are affordable. Ha!)"
