Hawaii Island Golf Hotel

"After attending a wedding and staying at a resort at the northwest side of the island, we decided to try the opposite side. Very comfortable location overlooking a golf course. Even played a few holes. Very short drive to Volcano National Park where we spent quite a bit of time. Home was very clean, well equipped and owners were very accommodating. Very relaxing location. I highly recommend this location and would definitely come back if I was to stay in the area."

"Upon arrival at 9 pm, staff was very friendly and courteous. The room was very clean and lovely. All this was awesome. Things went south when after a long day of travel, in preparation for heading to bed we found we had zero water anywhere. No shower, No flushing of toilets, no water in the sink taps. We could not even brush our teeth. I phoned the front dest to see if there was a trick to turning on the water in the condo. It was then we were informed there was a water flushing of hydrants...

"Unfortunately for us there was a band/choir highschool gathering. Loud kids, took over the pool area. Stayed up late partying and as we were on the ground floor we were keep awake from noise above until after midnight. They should have been staged in a separate area. Ugh"

"The resort is beautifully landscaped and private and quiet. These are all attributes we much appreciated. The ladies at the front desk were always cheerful and anxious to be of assistance. It was a good week at Holua! "

"We had a wonderful stay! The grounds are absolutely beautiful, we never had an issue finding chairs at the pool, loved snorkeling in the cove, and enjoyed seeing the sea turtles every morning while drinking our coffee. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. The only downside is the food wasn’t as tasty as we hoped it’d be however, having the shuttle service came in handy so we could try other restaurants nearby. "

"General speaking, this hotel/resort is in very good condition. However, it's not good if you need to find a restaurant in a hurry as there is no one nearby. Another inconvenience is that we found out the hotel did not provide shampoo, conditioner or body wash even for short stay guests. You can buy a small package for $3 in the office but it's not open after hours. "
