"We liked that the property retained its 19th century charm but had modern amenities. But why have a menu that is mostly Thai food or Thai spiced in an old west hotel restaurant and bar? Please give me some Hangtown fries and buffalo meat!"

"This is an older property and the rooms reflect this. The beds were comfortable and clean. It was fine for us as we spent most of our time with family. The owner/manager was very helpful and friendly. We were in the end room and the Wi-Fi was weak there. He offered us another room but we chose to stay put. We could easily walk to the gazebo or just a bit toward the office to use Wi-Fi. It worked fine for us but it’s certainly not the Ritz. "

On the upside some of the things look to have been recently updated, like the floor and vanity. The towels were either brand new or exceptionally clean. I would stay there again. Thank you"

"Staff was super friendly. Rooms are older, but they are very clean. Bed was comfortable. Stayed 2 nights with 2 rooms. Will definitely stay again. Close to downtown Grass valley and 5 minutes to Nevada city. "
