Great location for accessing the sights of San Francisco. And the hotel’s lobby has recently been renovated. The beds are super comfy & the bathroom is modern & very clean. It’s an old hotel so needs more updates but it was the only elevator breaking down that made us leave. No date for repair & the turret like stairs too difficult to manage when you are older & have arthritis.

Photos are way better than the place looks. Their elevators were down for more than a week before my arrival and the receptionist said they just went down. I carried my 23lbs luggage through spiral stairs to floor 5 and did the same coming back down to checkout. I had booked 6 nights but I stayed up all night through night number 1. I was uncomfortable and went to tell them at the reception that I was checking out because there was no air conditioning. The receptionist called me after I had returned to my room and accidentally called the front desk while trying to reach Expedia (guess they eventually took me serious) to offer me an air-conditioned room. I had booked another hotel anyway. They refused to offer even a partial refund. No fridge, no microwave too.

Very convenient for downtown. Old but clean and great service. If you are bothered by street noise try and get a room high up maybe. Also no a.c. which was not an issue for my stay but if the weather was really hot might trouble some. Was there for conference - worked out great.

Our experience was horrible. My partner has chronic back pain and the elevator was broken so we had to walk up eight flights of stairs every time we entered or left the hotel. We will report this to authorities because it does not adhere to ADA. Also, we have been lied to 3 times (told the elevator would be fixed in the morning, told there would be a manager to speak to in morning and we would be moved to another room asap). None of those happened without further prompting and frustration.

The staff here are super friendly, the facilities are clean and well kept. I enjoyed our room, and the bed was really comfy. We had a hiccup where the elevator broke down halfway thru our stay, and we were on the 7th floor! It was pretty awful climbing all those stairs so we really made conscious decisions about what we were doing when! Lol. Thankfully it was fixed on the morning we left, because I was dreading carrying our luggage down.
