First time at Excellence Maharas, and we spent the day on the beach. The service from Josue and Floricel was outstanding friendly, professional, attentive, and incredibly fast. They treated us with genuine kindness and made the entire experience feel special. Our room was excellent as well comfortable, clean, and beautifully maintained. What really impressed me was that the director and assistant director personally took time out of their busy day twice to ask how we were enjoying the facility. That final touch showed me this place truly cares about every guest. Because of the way we were treated, we will absolutely return. Truly exceptional service all around. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was overall an excellent resort. It was very clean including the rooms. Staff were very friendly. The check in experience was great! The food was delicious, plenty of restaurants/food selection at this resort. We had a great time. The reason for the 4 star and not a 5 star review: I tried to contact the hotel directly before attending to confirm our reservation as we booked through Expedia. I was only able to speak to a call centre and I was told there was absolutely no way for me to speak to someone at the hotel and that there was no way to confirm the reservation as I had booked through a third party. I thought this was bizarre and made me feel uneasy not knowing our reservation was confirmed with the hotel directly. Poolside drink service was slow and there were a couple occasions where we would order a drink and it didn't show (even with a tip). This was our Honeymoon, we received a card to bring to a restaurant of our choosing for a romantic dinner which included a bottle of wine. Our waiter began to go over the wine menu and we made a decision. We were then asked if the wine was to be charged to our room, we declined as we thought a bottle was included with our experience. We were provided with a bottle of the house wine which seemed redundant as we could just order as many glasses of house wine as we wanted. The overall dinner experience wasn't anything special. This resort was a bit too expensive for what it was.

Rooms, amenities, activities were excellent. Really enjoyed water volleyball and sailing. On property restaurants were a mixed fare. A couple of restaurants were not even average. Other than that we had a wonderful stay.

Nice resort. Rooms are dated (some are renovated apparently) and housekeeping was spotty - some days our used glassware wasn’t removed and we weren’t restocked. Our fridge was left open 6 out of the 9 days we were there. Likes: the spa was amazing, very expensive but worth it. Great shows and nightlife. The food was generally very good. Spice was our favourite with The Grill a close second - and we are foodies. Pool service was consistently good. Not so great: alcohol and cocktails were terrible. Often undrinkable unless you ordered something super simple. Watered down and no to shelf available unless you are Excellence. I even wondered if they replaced the half decent with cheap.

I can not say how much we loved our stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres!! The service is top notch. Every single staff member was such a pleasure and accommodating from check in to check out. Rooms good. Staff excellent. Martini bar amazing and great spa. Wish the VIP excellence rooms and area was monitored more. A lot of people in our area that didnt belong so it was a party everyday..... all day in front of our room. Very loud.
