Want to start off with how horrible the food was. My husband and I left the resort our last two nights to eat somewhere local because we couldn’t do it anymore and went across the street to the market to grab their hot food multiple times. Reservations for restaurants made absolute no sense, you’d have to get lucky and arrive hours prior opening to be added to the waiting list. We made friends with a worker whom we heavily tipped at the first restaurant we got into to get us into the steak place the following day, otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten to experience that restaurant throughout our one week stay. Overall poor service and front desk doesn’t care about you. My husband got his phone stolen within minutes at the adult swim bar and hotel couldn’t do anything about, at least pull up cameras! The resort itself is nice because it is brand new but wow it left a really bad taste in our mouths especially for the price we paid. This is the first trip ever where i genuinely was ready to go home. There are hundreds of other resorts on the hotel zone and i recommend you look into any of them but this one. Stay at your own risk.

There is no shade at the beach, pools are not heated, poor entertainment and my 7 years old son threw up after eating buffet food. There are only 4 restaurants and two of them are buffet style.

We had a wonderful stay. Our only problem was that our bathroom didn’t smell fresh in the beginning. I think air freshener should be included since the bathroom didn’t have air coming in, other that everything was great! They have taxi service to take you anywhere to get and buy souvenirs. The building was beautiful, right at the beach of course and new, they just opened up last month. The service workers were great!! Truly wonderful stay! Thank Riu Cancun for the best experienced knowing that it was also our first visited to Cancun

Communication: Poor-Did not honor what they post on Expedia about airport transport! Hassle! Received response 3 days after checkout!!! Check-in: Were assigned to a room where guests were in!! Glad we were not beaten up! No apoogies or No complementaries / No compensation! Food: Poor! They made sure you don't get to visit specialty restaurants with hours of wait and no online booking! Service: Average to poor! You want a waiter to come to your table --- get ready with cash in hand for tips. Otherwise, you don't get anything from this all inclusive hotel! Shows: Average for 2 out of 5 days in the week. Some actors did great but poor souls -- their costumes were damaged! Hotel need to good job to treat them well. Hotel Room and Ocean View: Only good we liked! Beach: No umbrellas (Near by hotels have them) Pools: No pool is available to actually swim for teenagers/ adults. Only kids /adult bar pools Overall: Would not recommend!!

Very basic hotel, not worth the price, probably least favorite Riu we stayed. Booze is low brand, shows are really bad and no shows on Saturday. Restaurants are ok but yiuchabe to line hour way before if youcwant to get in. Pool games are boring, bingo and volleyball. Place is lacking. Staff are the only reason i am giving a 2. Cause they work their butt off

I was nervous to stay at this resort after seeing so many negative reviews but we had an awesome time. Our honest feedback of the resort: The resort is brand new and at the time of our stay, had only been open for 2 weeks. We had an oceanfront king room and the view was amazing. Our balcony was very spacious. The view from the swim up bar pool was to die for. The staff were friendly and our room was kept cleaned and stocked the entire week. I will say, you have to keep in mind you are staying at a RIU, which is not the same level as a Sandals or Dreams resort. There was minimal entertainment in the evening (trivia and music) so if you enjoy show, you will be disappointed. We didn’t mind because we found other things to do. There are several restaurants however they are all “first come, first serve” and not reservations. Again, we didn’t mind this because if the wait was too long, we just went to the buffet which usually had the same food as the restaurant. The most negative experience we had was at the Sports Bar. This is the only bar and food option after 10pm and it is not good. We waited 30 minutes for a drink, and over an hour for a burger and fries. Overall, I would recommend this resort if you want endless food, a great view, and a new resort. We kept the mindset that we were in Cancun and that the resort was brand new. We try not to focus on the minor things.

There were a few quibbles, like activities that didn't take place, and two queen beds connected. However, overall, the hotel was clean and safe, and the staff were friendly.

1-Waited 30 minutes to request a drink at the swim up bar, we left with no drink. 2-The bars only had cheap licor. 3-The restaurants current system doesn’t work- there no reservations so we waited 3 hours to get in the steak house. 4- long lines everyday at all the restaurants ( no reservations allowed) The main issue we had was the emergency alarm going off 3 nights in a row, the first two nights was followed by a false alarm announcement. Third night at 5 am we were evacuated but there was a chaos because there are no stairs sign, nobody knew where the stairs were, we started opening doors until we found the door to the stairs. Nobody from the hotel was outside directing people, after going down 10 floors other guests told us that it was another false alarm ( hotel staff was nowhere to be found) This was our first time taking the whole family to a RIU, we praised them before and now I am very disappointed.

It was our first time visiting Cancun. The weather was great, and the hotel was very new and clean. We faced the ocean and see the sunrise every day. The ocean-view room was particularly nice, and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was also good, and the hotel is about a 7-minute walk from the Cancún side. The hotel is very close to the airport and also offers a shuttle bus service. We joined a snorkeling tour booked through the hotel, and the experience was excellent. We also took a boat to Isla Mujeres on our own for a day trip. Using Uber was convenient, and we felt that the safety level was high. However, when we made the reservation, we were expecting two queen-size beds. When we arrived at the hotel, only one king-size bed was arranged, which was slightly inconvenient for three adults. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel.

La comida en el Asian restaurante estaba fria. La comida en el stake house estaba riquisima y muy buen trato pero la espera de hacer linea por 2 horas para pioder entrar a el restaurant no es muy conveniente.

My family and I were very disappointed in the food and dining options. They have several restaurants onsite but they serve the same food from the buffet, no variations, and are only open from 6pm-10pm. Food was not what you would expect, even the Mexican food wasn't good. My grandson and I got sick on the first day, and they would not allow us to bring food to our room. No activities available for teenagers,other than pool and beach. Limited entertainment, and the band was subpar. I rate the experience a 6 out of 10. Would not stay there again.

The decided to do a free upgrade with double beds but the room they gave me was dirty. So i went back down stairs they assigned a new room on the first floor.... the room was stinky and the ac did not workbo was hot all night... they changed the room that morning and after that every thing was ok other than us having to wait until 3 to go backbin room
