「The location and views were amazing, but unfortunately, several aspects of our stay were disappointing. There was an overwhelming smell of vinegar in the room, and the patio was covered in ants, which really detracted from the experience. We were also shocked to discover that pool towels cost €10. Charging guests extra for something as basic as a pool towel feels unreasonable and left a poor impression. We can’t comment on the breakfast itself, as we had to check out before 7 a.m. We did,...

「So pleased with our decision to stay at Hotel Sun and Moon. The facilities were excellent and very good value. Our room was excellent and staff (especially Julianna) were very welcoming and helpful. It was very central and made getting around, picking up small bits and eating out really easy. We didn't have the breakfast but it looked good.」

「Lovely base with plenty of nice restaurants close by!」

「Good location, we walked into town a few times or a short bus/taxi ride. Bus right outside the hotel including the airport bus. Really good breakfast, some more vegetarian options would be great. Staff especially reception staff were really helpful. Didn't like: upgrading to partial sea view was disappointing.」

「We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and really enjoyed our stay. You can’t beat the location. The rooms are a bit small and to look at the view I needed to stand on a chair but I knew that when I booked it so all good. We enjoyed drinks at the restaurant and lived the live music. We used the rooftop pool almost daily and it’s great place to watch the sunset or look at the stars late at night. We would recommend it.」

「The hotel has a great location next to the Cathedral. Only problem is that it’s hard to get to with luggage, since cars & taxis can not get to the entrance. All the employees were helpful, talkative, and enjoyable. The free breakfast has a huge assortment of goodies and even hot items.. The one problem I do want to address is parking your car. When I reserved, it said parking available.. For some reason, I expected it nearby and free. The parking lot is a good 15 minutes walk from the hotel....

「The hotel is centrally located in Funchal close to the mall, grocery store and the boardwalk. The kitchen is great with a full fridge to store snacks and water. The restaurant downstairs offer a fantastic lunch for great price of 12 euro. The included breakfast is awesome with a great al la carte section breads, cheese and fruit. All staff was great but Kaitalin was fabulous and created a beautiful driving tour for us along the coastline!」
