"We did a little resort hop halfway through our trip, and wow — we are so glad this was our final stop! It ended our vacation on such a high note. The food was excellent (consistently good, which isn’t always the case at resorts), and the drinks were really well done. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. We weren’t able to get a king bed, which was a bit of a bummer, but honestly it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The beach access was easy and convenient, and I really appreciated the size of the resort — not too big, not overwhelming, and it felt easy to navigate. We also met some great people during our stay, which made it even more memorable. Such a great way to wrap up our trip — we’d absolutely come back as well as recommend!"

"Hotel was well maintained with friendly and helpful staff. The pool and entertainment team- Isreal, Roxy, and Sebastian were fantastic. Fun daily activities and nightly entertainment. Room had perfect view of the Gulf. Our biggest complaint was overall food quality and selection. Breakfast was buffet and some of the food did not look fresh. Had to request bacon- but they are happy to get it for you. The other restaurants- one did not sound good to us and then Don Gus had good appetizers and lime soup, but the entrees were just ok. Nothing to get excited about. Our meal at Marco Polo was good. The pizza counter by the pool was delicious! Wish there was a larger selection of food options overall. For a return visit- We would like more from the food and found we prefer adults only, but great small resort and perfect for families. They have a very loyal following. Would recommend overall. "

"This was a great family resort. We were greeted promptly and actually received a free room upgrade which really made a huge difference in our trip. The food selection was decent and they had good options for kids. Th activities by the pool were great and the beach was fairly well groomed despite the amout of kelp floating in. There was nightly entertainment for the kids and adults. The games room (pool, ping pong, foosball, mini golf could use more attention. It seemed to be in high demand especially in the evenings and there was always lack of golf balls, clubs, and/or there was a waiting list to do the activities. We travelled at the end of feb which is a busy time of year but it was always a fight to get chairs at the beach or pool. Also dinner reservations were hard to come by. If you didnt log on exactly at 8am when online booking opened, you couldnt get a dinner reservation. The fridge was always stocked with beer, soda, water, and juice boxes for kiddos. They did a great job of catering to kids with a kids drink menu at every bar and a well, stocked ice cream bar every lunch and dinner. This resort goes the extra mile by having a make your own mimosa or bloody mary bar in the buffet at breakfast, as well as having a small coffee/continental breakfast station in the lobby for early travellers. The food was always well cooked and no one in our group became ill during our week long stay (which is a common occurrence), the fruit and salad bar always looked clean and fresh"

"We stayed in extra upgraded juccuzzi tub on our balcony. The beverages, beers, and waters were not refilled at all during our stayed. Whether we’d requested via phone/in person in lobby. Why won’t they automatically refill while doing their housekeeping since we’d cut the light green/on??? It’s an all inclusive resort package. Everything else was 5 stars including food, drinks and servers in restaurants. "

"This is a nice 3.5 star hotel, not 5 star! The resort was well kept but kind of boring. No poolside entertainment throught the day and the evening shows were uncomfortable due to having to sit on the floor or stairs. Most of the restaurants were inaccessible due to very long waits so we pretty much stuck to the buffets for the week. Pool chairs were slim pickins. If you werent snagging one at 7am, you didnt get one. I dont think it was worth what we paid.... beautiful property though. "

"Beach and pools were good, however not exactly kid friendly. And the kid pool was for little kids not for teens. Shows were not that exciting and nothing for teens. Food never changed and was exactly the same each day from morning until night. The 24 hour sports bar is not 24 hours. Steak house needed reservations 3 days before. All the others did not require reservations but you couldn’t get into any of them if you didn’t get there right at 6pm. Buffet food made me sick. I tipped everyone including the person cleaning our room and upon checkout the resort tried sticking some obscene charges on our room. They said they had to clean up a bag of pee! Pee! Are you kidding me? We are not that kind of people and this was absolutely unacceptable. Not to mention that Expedia was supposed to book our transportation from the airport to the resort but no one ever came and we had to fork out $240 to get to the resort. Both Expedia and the resort refused to refund any money. I will not be staying at another RIU again nor book anything with Expedia."

"Beautiful hotel & beach club. We stayed at breathless a couple nights before which we also loved, but Hyatt Vivid is less of a party scene and a little fancier appearing. Recommend joining advantage club for rooftop pool access, top shelf liquor and private lounge/concierge + added discounts. We had a great stay the staff was very nice and accommodating to food restrictions/allergies. "
