Glenwood 3 Stars Hotels

"The start of the stay started off well with Sarge, the property manager, and all, with him cooking for us and welcoming us in. The rules were very strict in having no outter footwear inside the house. The property was nice with a stray cat, named White Knight, being around the property to be there during your stay. However, things went downhill when we found out that one of our friends was hit on by Sarge, which made her feel uncomfortable. We were caught off guard by this action and let the other guests who went there with us, to be cautious and watch over her. "

"Charming chalet. Had to clean up the French Press and the tea pot was sticky on the outside, but fine and usable. Enjoyed walking around, down to the waterfall. Felt very safe and secure. Beautiful surroundings. Unique get-away."

"Incredibly good deal for the price. No elevator but my unit was a mini apartment with sofa bed, kitchenette stocked with utensils, cookware and real plates and glasses. Fridge/freezer was much larger than the under counter units in bigger chain hotels. There was even a washer/ dryer. Better than an Extended Stay in that regard. Hotel manager was easily accessible by phone to answer questions and deal with a complicated booking situation. Got it resolved quickly and extremely favorably. Parking was free and very close to the building. 12 spaces advertised but the last two were in the exit driveway. No one wanted to back out of the driveway onto the street (no turn around) or get hit so didn't park in those spaces. Some small things that would make it even better: I actually baked a pizza in the toaster oven. Hot mitts would have been nice. A small trash can under the kitchen sink would be nice. Beats walking into the bathroom or living room after wiping up spills. Couldn't tell if the remote control for room comfort did anything. The settings changed on the remote but not on the unit inside the room. I would definitely stay there again."

"Stayed at Cabin Kai 4 (Dec 26–30, 2025). Affordable and located in a beautiful, peaceful area with free parking, water, and Wi-Fi (weak). Major concern: No window coverings for the floor-to-ceiling bathtub window or windows above the bed and coffee bar, resulting in serious privacy issues while bathing and sleeping. This was very uncomfortable. Remote location (45 minutes from Hilo); a car is required. No cellphone reception. No nearby restaurants or shops. Towels were not very clean, and there is no AC"
