“The hotel was a splendid surprise being a true manor in the style of a stately home with extensive grounds. We stayed in the Mews cottages which provided a large well equipped room and bathroom. ”

“it is in the old town center and just next to the main attractive points like cathedral. as it is a building over 500 years old, so no lift but wooden stairs only (but this is the reason i stay here). Shared toilet and bathroom is good (and you can enjoy the cathedral view when you are "relaxing"). ”

“We were a party of three adults staying two nights so that we had an easy journey over the weekend to get to the Steam Rally at nearby Woodchurch. Excellent base as views from the room were great, the balcony just right to sit and watch the sunset, and the beds were comfortable. The only negative comment being the restaurant tables, which had a very sticky feel to them. The waitresses wiped them down thoroughly but it seems this affected the surface of the tables! However the food was excellent……

“Great stay but no one to answer the listed Emergency Phone number for use when property is not staffed. Everything was great but when trying to store luggage for a few hours at the end of the second day stay there was no one available at property nor on the posted emergency phone number”

“The location within the cathedral grounds is a special feature. Lovely to wander around in the evening and easy for the restaurants. Breakfast was fabulous with a choice of cooked or a large continental menu. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was a smallish double and the shower was adequate but not a huge space. Overall a delightful experience. ”
