「Hotel Boutique Casa del Río was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip! Nestled in the heart of the rainforest, the property is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for nature lovers. Our room was beautiful, and waking up to the soothing sound of the rushing river each morning was incredibly peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh tropical fruits, fresh juices, and a flavorful traditional Costa Rican breakfast. The view of the volcano from the restaurant in the morning was breathtaking....

「Staff super helpful. Because I am direction challenged, I had a problem with finding the exact location. GPS was not helpful either. Signs point in general direction but I still needed to ask a few local people.」

「Garden style」

「The vista on property was beautiful but the room we booked was suppose to overlook the lake and volcano but we got placed in a room that mainly overlooked the parking lot for the sky adventure park with some views of the lake visible. There were horse flies everywhere and tons of dead flies all over the floor in the room and in the curtains on the bed and in the bathtub. The traffic up to the adventure park was very loud. And there were no amenities on the property. But the lady on site...

「There is absolutely nothing to do on the premises. There is nothing but a garden and two eating facilities. The WiFi was good. The breakfast was the same every day.」

「Ziemlich abgelegen, aber dafür umso schöner liegt die Anlage. Perfekt, um auszuspannen und Ruhe zu finden. Es gibt einen kleinen 3 Kilometer Trail der doch ziemlich steil hoch und runtergeht. 60 Minuten braucht man. Vorbeikommt man an einem kleinen und spektakulären Wasserfall. Die Anlage ist schön gepflanzt und direkt neben meiner Lodge habe ich Colibris gesehen. Außerhalb der Lodge kann man vermutlich wenig unternehmen. Ich war im August und nachts wurde es dann doch ziemlich frisch und kalt....

「Lovely property. Full of trails in its reserve. Went to the shore - 20 minutes through the woods - to the most magnificent and wild shore. Like heaven! Also went to the natural pool and waterfall - beautiful and cool! The garden, the ocean view from every spot, and the natural and simple wooden rooms - all was a great scene for nature. Dishes of the hotel restaurant (lunch/dinner), not cheap but very tasty. The only thing we missed is an umbrella (which was a must in any other hotel this time...

「There are not many options in this areas. The room was pretty small but OK. The pool was OK but is small too for such a large lodge. Although we were told not to use the towels of the room because there are towels at the pool - there were no towels refilled. No problem for us but not the service promised. The restaurant prices looked OK - however, we decided to drive to the little village nearby. Breakfast in the hotel was definetely too expensive. It is OK to stay here but if we would come back...
