"Pleasant stay at Hotel Monterey Frere. Easy to get to from Osaka station by foot. Many dining options within a one block radius of the property and even more beyond that. Only concern is elevator availability can be delayed during peak times. Otherwise would come back again if I find myself in Osaka."

"Although this is an older hotel, it was well maintained and the rooms were well appointed. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Fresh, delicious coffee and personal care items were available in the lobby. The Metro entrance is across the street and the main Osaka Namba station is just three blocks away where you can catch a taxi, bus or train. The breakfast was good and convenient. The only drawback.. no dresser or drawers for clothing if staying more than one night."

"Close to Osaka Station, convenience stores and restaurants. What has room for improvement: International ( USA) TV stations such as CNN, CNBC, etc. Bedding could use a lighter duvet as the one provided was too thick and therefore too hot"

"Lovely hotel, slightly away from the busy area but directly above Kitahama station so very convenient for getting around. The 62 bus stops nearby which takes about 10 mins to / from Osaka Castle. The breakfast buffet was good value at 2300Y. It was varied and plentiful with a good selection of food & drink. There were some nice local restaurants nearby including Lien which is great fun and just across the road. We had a triple room for 2 people which meant we had a bit of space and it was beautifully quiet. There were lots of extras included - pyjamas, slippers, a free drink every day. There were also some amazing free face-masks & beauty products - we looked 10 years younger after a 26 hour journey from the UK!"

"We stayed her overnight after arriving to Osaka from a long flight. The hotel was very close to the train station and Dontobori, easily walkable to both. Great dining, shopping, and entertainment close by. The room was simple, quiet, clean and comfortable and just what we needed to get a good nights rest. The toiletries in the lobby are great and make your skin feel refreshed and moisturized. Breakfast had plenty of diverse options and was worth it for the one night that we stayed. "
