"Very new and clean pool area comfortable. Staff friendly and accommodating. Food very good. Needs some amenities like coffee on the premises besides a pricy restaurant. Also basic sundries for sale. All in all, a 4-star experience "

"Wife and I stayed at Opal Sands for our 10th anniversary and could not have picked a better place to celebrate. The views of the Gulf from our room was spectacular, and the resort itself was beyond amazing. We ate at Seaguini for breakfast and dinner and the food was delicious, as was the food at the sister hotels restaurant. We are already planning our return."

"Do not book with Expedia!! Book directly through the hotels website. We booked this hotel for a Saturday through Sunday and when we arrived at the hotel around 8pm they had told us we’re sorry we overbooked and you don’t have a room! They were kind enough to book a hotel 45 minutes further south and further from our home. No communication sent to us prior of our arrival! No phone call, no email, no text. When I initially contacted corporate Marriott they had passed the buck to Expedia and unfortunately this is what happens when we don’t book directly with the source. When I contacted Expedia they passed the buck back to Marriott and offered me a $25 credit. I was insulted! $25 doesn’t even get you a 1/4 tank of gas these days. "

"Hotel is definitely in need of an upgrade. We were placed in a room with a lot of stuff broken and needing cleaned. "

"Great location! Property is a little older but room was clean & didn’t see any bugs in the room. Some areas of the resort have a musty smell, the WiFi was spotty a couple nights, but overall a great place to stay with beach access only a quick walk across the street. Close to a lot of restaurants in walking distance. We didn’t have a car for the week but that wasn’t an issue at all. "
