Plenty of walks and easy access to boats to get around the lakes. Only thing we didn't realise that majority of pubs are dog friendly, not great when you're allergic. It was very hard to avoid dogs when you want to go for a nice meal.

Great dog friendly pubs like the Albert Inn, worth finding a good walk for any length of time because the views are all worth it. Lake is stunning. Great area to escape for a weekend

30 minute walk to Bowness which is the most tourist orientated part of the Lake district. Up into Windermere itself is quiet with great transport links around thr Lake district.

Better to go in the off-season, if you can. Otherwise, you'll struggle for parking/restaurants etc due to the number of tourists.

"Lovely hitel in an udeal location, 5 min walk to Windermere Kake and town center with plenty of shops and eateries.
The spa is ideal after a busy day out to unwind in.
Cosy small double room was also modern and comfy, and a good size.
Complimentary Elemis toiletries in bathroom too.
We ate at the restaurant onsite which was very enjoyable."
"Lovely guest house. Rooms clean and well laid out. Beds very comfy. En suite small but has everything you need. Breakfast was fabulous, staff were very attentive without being overbearing. Good selection of cereals and pastries plus cooked options."
"A really great stay in a very nice room. The staff seemed nice enough, the wifi speed was incredible and the hotel also has a decent (free) car park for guests. Very reasonable price and super modern room. Couldn't fault it."
"Beautiful location, views are stunning on the outside terrace, rooms are lovely whilst small has all you need although would suggest a mirror on the dressing table. Breakfast was lovely, drinks very reasonably priced with a good selection and lovely welcoming staff. "
