“Lovely pub, friendly staff. We only stayed 1 night but the rooms were very clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast was cooked beautifully and really tasty. We would have had diner there but unfortunately it was the Christmas market on within Tarvin that evening so no food was served other than a stall outside. Free parking for people staying in the pub. Within a 15 min drive into Chester - Wouldn’t hesitate to go back. An enjoyable if not brief visit. ”

“Staff lovely, room clean and comfortable, parking easy. BUT… room was close to the corridor fire doors and main doors. Felt like the doors were banging behind our heads every time they closed. Really dreadful night’s sleep meant a super hard day and a difficult drive home the next night. A hotel has one job, a good night’s sleep. Chose to stay here based on the good reviews so if you do stay, but please ask for a room far away from corridor doors and the main doors. Staff kindly asked how we……

“The overall aspect of the property was misleading, the property wasn't of a standard that I would expect from a Vrbo property or any rental property, the cleanliness was far from acceptable, massive cobwebs in a few rooms, stains on carpets, rugs that we really a bad trip hazards, the one at the top of the stairs which we moved, sofa bed not fit for purpose, stains on bedding, dishwasher didn't clean properly, no welcome pack, lights in the small bedroom wasn't working, mold and grime build up……

“Everything about this property was great. There were a few minor issues. One was the metal strip keeping down the carpet leading to the small bedroom had some screws sticking up. We threw a towel over it and moved on. Had we reported it I’m sure it would have been taken care of. Also, would have liked a place to set our toiletries in the bathroom. Some sort of shelf. The decor was nice and everything was clean. Would reccomend this place.”
