“As others have said, it's not a five-star resort. We had misgivings when we arrived. But, we ended up liking the house better than a hotel. My friend and I stayed in the smaller two bedroom house. The property really is carved out of the jungle and the gardens surrounding the cottage are absolutely beautiful. It was very clear to us that there was considerable thought in both designing and maintaining the gardens. “The location at the top of the hill has amazing views of the Central Valley. The accommodations are basic but a welcome bottle of wine, snacks, butter and milk for coffee are nice touches. However, there is no air conditioning and the windows face due east. In the morning, that means bright sun directly into the sleeping space. There are aluminum blinds which help lessen the sunlight a bit, but unfortunately they rattle loudly if the wind blows and vents are open to let in fresh air. The biggest……

“Greet stay!! Beautiful Casita. The kitchen had everything you needed…could even buy a bottle of wine from the top shelf!!! “On the property lives 2 roosters which are very loud (and beautifull). And you have to feed them otherwise they will scream non stop. They start to beg for food around 4 am. Plus there is no hot water in sinks which makes living very uncomfortable (no dishwasher as well). If you want to have a nice shower - forget about it! Showers have electrical warmers and you have to use small water presser to make it work. We got no hot water in both bathrooms when we arrived. Later shower was fixed in……

“We loved this house. It has a gorgeous view. We had access to a washer. There is a clothes line outside to dry the clothes. The clothes dried quickly as long as it didn’t rain. The air conditioning worked great upstairs. Like most Costa Rica rentals the air conditioning is just in the bedroom. Playa Conchal is our favorite beach. Not enough room to sleep 3 people comfortably, but perfect for a couple.”

“Bret and his crew were awesome people, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The property is wonderful, we hiked it almost everyday following the many trails and finding plateaus with amazing views of Lake Arenal. Sitting on the patio having a favourite beverage, we listened to howler monkeys, saw white faced monkeys, and many species of birds including parrots and toucans. Overall we had a wonderful vacation and would highly recommend a stay at CRParaiso.”

“My husband and I had a great stay at Casita Cole from Feb1-April 5/2024 . Zindis was good to work with . Our house manager , Edgar is the greatest ! Any little issue we had he was right on it . On a larger issue he was so helpful He checked in with us a number of times to make sure all was going well . The world needs more Edgars ! “The view from this property is amazing. The distance to town was not bad. The food in the town of Montezuma was wonderful too. Peter was a great host and we had all that we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the covered patio watching the sun rise in the AM. And we took full advantage of the pool during the heat of the day. We will be back to visit for sure!!!”

“No ac, no hot water, the directions were written by an idiot, filthy, the “shower” is dangerous and not worth the risk, the tub is disgusting and both would be in freezing water. The floor would be more comfortable than the bed. No privacy. The owner of the property can not communicate and when he does he lies. We asked for ac and hot water to be fixed he asked us to mess with his electrical then said someone would come fix it which never happened. He also expected us to blindly sit at the……

“The property is a casita (mother-in-law apartment) within the gated property of the host. They have an additional rental. I liked that we were living like the locals do. The Casita is simple with a fantastic balcony. The hosts were wonderful although only the husband speaks English so communication once there was challenging. The Casita has a well equipped kitchen with a normal sized refrigerator and freezer. There is a gas burner but no toaster. One significant quirk was that the floor was not……

“We loved our stay!! Beach is 5 minutes away and this is up on a mountain so you have amazing views. Sunsets and ocean view were so gorgeous that my partner proposed right on our balcony!!! Our hosts stayed at another cabina onsite and were SO SO SO helpful. Coordinated a lot of activities for us. The view is unbeatable and it’s very quiet. Local feeling, not a touristy area. Really lived Pura Vida in these cabinas. And the shared pool was perfect and overlooks the ocean. Please note you……
