"This is our second time at the Fairmont Orchid. The property offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation including a beautiful setting. We were in a Gold Level room and the staff couldn't have been more engaging, attentive, and genuinely helpful. You were greeted with a smile each day. This was a theme throughout the resort. The spa services were amazing. It was one of the best massages I've ever had. We snorkeled on property and saw tons of brightly colored tropical fish and sea turtles. The property itself is very pretty with all of the waterfalls, foliage and palm trees. In an effort to be environmentally responsible, you are given thermal water bottles and there are water stations throughout the resort. We really enjoyed the Fairmont Orchid and will definitely return for future vacations. Tip: If you want a shaded spot at the pool, get down early. As the week progressed, the resort became more crowded. I went down at 8:00AM and wasn't able to find a shaded spot. Also, you can only find mineral suntan lotion on the island because of the damage regular sunscreen causes to the coral reefs. It's effective but leaves a residue on your skin and swim suit. The only area of improvement was the building we stayed in was a little older and needed a refresh. It was by no means unappealing or run down. The room was great with a beautiful view. The wing just needed a little bit of an update. Thank you to the Fairmont Orchid staff for making our stay in Hawaii amazing!"

"Beautiful family friendly condo/resort. We found an amazing deal on this website that allowed us to enjoy a week of relaxation and exploring. The views and condition of the resort was top notch. Our only complaint was that the floors could have been cleaner. Otherwise we would recommend this place to anyone traveling with a family."

"A very convenient location for staying in Waimea-- there are two supermarkets and one health store across near by. Several restaurants/coffee shops within a mile and a lovely 1 mile (2 mile round trip) nature path across the street. It is a bit of a drive to Kona or Hilo but still accessible. Email the hotel with your information (email address) even if you intend to check in before 4 PM (flight delays etc) so they can email you with how to check in after hours. Staff were friendly in person and on the phone. In addition to a coffee maker, my standard room had a mini fridge which allowed me to store snacks/produce w/o fear of spoilage or pests."
