Excellence Riviera Cancun - Adults Only All Inclusive

"This is a beautiful property! Adults only was a definite plus. The pools were lovely and the lazy river insanely long. The service by the lazy river area was lacking but it's a lot of territory to cover. The beach accommodations are top notch with plenty of chairs and shaded areas - more than any resort I've gone to. The downside was the time of year we unfortunately went as the seaweed was at an all-time high. They did an amazing job keeping the beach clean, but the smell was like rotten eggs and pretty hard for me to deal with. There are several restaurants on the property but at times only one was open, limiting options. There were also long waits and at one point we were told we had to have a reservation; which turned out to be false. The rooms are spacious but definitely dated. The beds were comfortable for Mexico standards and the bedding was nice. The pillow options were an amazing upgrade. All in all we enjoyed our time at the resort."

"Had a great time for what it was worth. The room was very nice. We Couldn’t swim in the ocean or take any pictures because of the seaweed. I Guess July isn’t a good time to travel, and there weren’t really many food options on the resort. We couldn’t get any reservations because all the restaurants were booked during our whole stay. So we only ate at the buffet and they served the same thing every night."

"We had a great experience! The staff was extremely friendly, and we really loved the hospitality. It genuinely felt like the hotel and staff were doing everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The food was great as well. We really enjoyed the Himitsu restaurant and the buffet, and we especially loved the sushi bar by the beach. Having the 24/7 coffee shop was also amazing. There were multiple pools to choose from, so there was always somewhere different to relax. The lazy river and tube slides were a lot of fun too, especially if you're traveling with family. When you first arrive, you will likely be approached about attending a timeshare presentation in exchange for spa benefits. We simply declined and moved on. It was a slight negative, but it only happened once, so it wasn't a big deal and seems to be pretty common at resorts in the area. The other downside was the ocean. There was quite a bit of seaweed, which is currently an issue in many parts of Cancun and has affected a lot of hotels, so it's not really something the resort can control. We still had a great time relaxing on the white sand and hanging out by the beach. Overall, despite a couple of minor negatives, we had a really enjoyable stay, loved the hospitality, food, pools and activities, and would definitely recommend the resort."
