Marie-Line is a great host. Everything was as described and property was spotless. Neighborhood is very pleasant and we fell in love with Brooklyn.Would definitely go back again.
We had a great stay. The place is located 2-3 blocks from Prospect Park and 2-3 trains and the Q-B trains. The place was clean and as advertised. The host was very responsible. Totally recommend.
We loved our stay. Marie-Line is a perfect host, discreet but present when necessary. She did everything to make our stay a pleasant one. The apartment is very well located, on a quiet street, close to shops and two subway stations with direct lines to Manhattan. We highly recommend this apartment and hope to return.
Park Slope is a wonderful neighborhood. Restaurants of every ethnicity imaginable everywhere, easy access to Subway into Manhattan, families all over the place… Just a really wonderful neighborhood
This place is very reasonably priced, kitchen has everything you need, Comfortable living room and dining area
Marie is a great host. We want to come back.
My month long stay in this apartment was wonderful! The apartment itself was clean, stocked with everything you could think of, and check-in was so easy. Marie-Line met me when I arrived and showed me around in-person. She was also very responsive to text messages throughout my stay regarding various things. The apartment is also perfectly located in Park Slope. A 15 minute walk to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, 7-10 minute walk to the 7th Ave train station and a 15-20 minute walk to the train station at Barclays. I would absolutely stay here again and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cute place to stay while visiting New York/Brooklyn
The property is well maintained and the property manager was very responsive to our questions and requests.
The wifi system worked well. The kitchen has a coffee-maker, electric toaster, stove-top burners and a microwave oven. The electric oven beneath the stove-top was inaccessible during our stay but the microwave filled in nicely.
The Park Slope neighborhood itself is pleasant, with many local shops in easy walking distance. It is served by several subway lines and is therefore a convient base of operations for travel to Manhattan.
Our stay at Marie-Line's Park Slope Apartment was just amazing. It was a home away from home and a great retreat from the busy city of NYC.
Check in was seamless, even when our flight was delayed and we arrived after midnight, nothing was too much trouble.
Apartment is exactly as advertised, clean and had everything to make our stay comfortable.
Location is fabulous. Safe, close to several subway stations, grocery stores and multiple restaurants. The neighborhood is gorgeous.
Thanks so much Marie-Line for a great stay, we hope to be back. Highly recommend!!!!
We loved our stay in Park Slope. The unit was very comfortable with AC, a washer and dryer, and the view of trees out of the front and back windows making it especially nice. As others mentioned the oven is a little tricky but it’s workable. The neighborhood was wonderful to walk around in with tons of restaurants, shops, and food markets. And there is a playground right down the street. If you’re up for a bit longer of a walk, Prospect Park (which is huge) and the peaceful Brooklyn Botanic Gardens aren’t too far. Going to Manhattan is an easy 30 min commute by train. Marie was very easy to work with and answered any questions we had right away. We had a wonderful stay and would love to stay here again someday!
This was a great place to stay for long term rental in Brooklyn. Excellent neighborhood close to downtown. I would recommend this apartment for future stays.
A wonderful apartment in a quiet residential street but only a short walk to 5th and 7th Avenues with their excellent food and drink choices.
And there are 3 local subway stations, so getting into Manhattan is a breeze.
Quiet street. Lovely views in back. Easy access on foot to Downtown Brooklyn, Cobble Hill. Beautiful tree-lined 6th and 8th.
Easy communication when necessary.
Fully equipped for my one month stay.
I had a wonderful stay at Marie Lines Park Slope apartment. I was between apartments and needing a short term rental until my new lease began. Marie-Line was a great host, very responsive and helpful. The apartment is just as described.
Marie-Lines's place was exactly as advertised and the perfect place for my family to rest and recover following my daughter's extended hospital stay. Sunny, quiet and clean the place was perfect and within easy walking distance of an array of good food choices (bagel pub and bahnmigos rock!) And a variety of coffee shops too (Konditori is where it's happening!!) Walking distance to multiple subway lines gave us easy access to NYC and all it has to offer too. Marie- line was easy to communicate with and arrival/ departure was seamless. I recommend this place to anyone and would happily stay again on a future visit.
This is a roomy, well lit and comfortable apartment. The bedroom is large but there is a bit of noise from the street. Our host was very responsive and replaced the bed frame and that improved our sleep quality. The extra bedroom is very small and very basic but has a very comfortable bed. The living room is spacious and faces a lot of greenery. The dining room table served us well, as did the kitchen, although the oven is not easy to operate and the kitchen could do with more cups, knives and a ladle. We stayed for a whole month, so we may have had needs that short stay guests don’t have. Our host was very quick to respond to any need or question and the location was perfect for us. The apartment looks a bit less shiny than it does on the VRBO site but it’s very comfortable and we would stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Tired and neglected
We rented this property for three nights for our daughter’s college graduation. Since our daughter lives in Brooklyn, we chose to stay in Brooklyn this trip, instead of in Manhattan, as we usual do. Originally, we reserved a different VRBO property, but the owner had to cancel one month out from our trip bc of the new, highly restrictive rules for these NY rental properties. So, at the last minute, we scrambled to find another suitable property. We selected this one in Park Slope because of its convenient location near 2 subway lines and because the photos looked appealing.
First, let me say that the location was as the description promised — on a nice, tree-lined street and close to transportation. Alternately, I would say that the interior of the property was not as the photos appear. It was renovated (poorly) at one point, maybe 10-12 years ago when those photos were taken, but it is now tired and neglected. Just as an example, the doorknob to the master bedroom fell off onto the floor leaving us with an unusable door, the water pressure in the shower is non-existent, and the granite countertop behind the bathroom sink is cracked and disintegrating (photos included).
Additionally, reviewers rave about how helpful the owner is, but we found her to be the opposite. Prior to arriving, I notified her that our flight would be landing at JFK at 5:30 pm and we hoped to arrive at the property around 7:00. We got there at 7:15, and she showed us up to the apartment (which is a 2nd story walk-up, so pack accordingly) where all the curtains were drawn, the windows were closed and the A/C was off. It was 85 degrees out, and she knew we were coming. Wouldn’t you open the drapes and turn on the air? Or at least open a window? We had to quick-change for a graduation party, and we were all dripping with sweat! It’s just common courtesy to try to make your guests feel welcome and comfortable upon arrival, I would think. Maybe a bottle of water in the fridge or two? She did nothing of the sort. She pointed to the keys and a laminated sheet of info, and she left.
I tell you all of this, not to discourage you from staying here, but more so you can manage your expectations properly. It is not quite as the photos appear. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to a friend. I certainly don’t understand the 4- and 5-star reviews.
Best place we have stayed during 15 months of nomadic NYC living!
My wife, adult daughter and I have been staying at various rentals in NYC/Brooklyn for the last 15 months and have gotten a great feeling for the different neighborhoods, especially in Brooklyn. I have to say that Marie-Line's place is by far the best, homey-est, most comfortable and most peaceful place that we have stayed in yet. The neighborhood (Park Slope) is the best we have experienced - so good in fact that we are now starting to entertain the idea of purchasing our own place here. Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Museum, Botanic Garden and Saturday Farmer's Market are all an easy walk from Marie-Line's place. Also 7th Ave and 5th Ave are INCREDIBLE - with restaurants and interesting businesses galore. Finally, her rental is spacious and well equipped with beautiful artwork, kitchen essentials and everything we needed. Marie-Line herself is a warm and wonderful host - she quickly addressed a couple of things we requested, and adjusted her schedule to accommodate challenging timing we were facing regarding our check-in. I simply cannot say enough good things about her, her upstairs flat where we stayed, or the neighborhood.
A jewel of a VRBO rental, a jewel of a neighborhood and a jewel of a host! Thank you again Marie-Line for everything - we will miss you!!
We really enjoyed our stay here. We were living at there for 5 weeks, which is probably longer than most stays. The apartment was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and storing food. We were unable to use the broiler in the oven, but that would probably not impact most people. The air conditioners in each room helped to keep us cool in the summer heat. The rooms were comfortably large and the small bedroom was used as both an office and as a bedroom to my daughter who visited us there. There were not too many stairs to climb to enter the space.
Probably the best thing about the apartment was its location. I enjoyed having coffee and breakfast at a variety of cafes nearby. The Bagel Pub has very good bagels and a large amount of toppings. There were many restaurants and shops on both 5th and 7th Avenue. There were also a few different options for groceries. My husband rented a Citibike to ride around Prospect Park everyday and I enjoyed being close enough to walk to Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The Q and the 2 or 3 trains are within a 10 minute walk.
Thank you Marie-Line for a wonderful stay!
My husband and I stayed in this accommodation for 32 nights and it was a treat. Fluffy towels, comfortable bed linens, and a well-stocked kitchen were very much appreciated! We loved hearing the bells toll from the church on the corner. The area is lovely with plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!
I have rented homes in different cities and several times in NYC. This one is the BEST ever and excellent in every way. The apartment was spacious, clean, well-appointed and had every convenience I needed. In the kitchen, I was able to make breakfast and small meals easily because they had Starbucks coffee, tea, sugar and sweeteners, cooking oil, spices, aluminum foil and pans for roasting and baking, etc. The bathroom had a skylight that made it bright even during gray days and had thick, Calvin Klein towels (even good hotels don't have these), soap, shampoo, and a hair dryer. The master bedroom was large with high ceilings, big windows, multiple closets with hangers, a well-functioning airconditioner, and a comfortable bed with smooth Calvin Klein cotton sheets and a warm comforter that kept one comfortable even during cold evenings. There were extra sheets, towels, and hangers. The washer and dryer inside a closet was so quiet I ran it and hardly heard a sound. Of course they had detergent available which I used for doing my laundry since I was there for a whole month. The second bedroom was small, but it had a comfortable bed, a big window, and a view to the street. Both bedrooms look out to the quiet and leafy street - I was surprised you could barely hear any sounds from outside.
Marie-Line was supportive, accessible and kind without being intrusive. I had complete privacy but if I had any questions, she responded within an hour or even faster. The check-in was so easy; when I informed her that I was arriving earlier than the check-in time, she made sure the apartment was ready for me when I arrived from the airport.
This residential area of Park Slope is so pleasant and charming, but just at the end of the block on 7th Avenue, everything is available: dry cleaner, several coffee shops, bagel and pastry shops, numerous restaurants, Cousin John Bakery with the best cookies, Paper Source store, Kiwi and other clothing shops, terrific bookstore, Key Food and other small groceries to purchase produce and food, florists, hair and nail salons, toy stores to buy presents for children, and more. On the other end, two blocks away on 5th Avenue are a panoply of shops and restaurants. For a whole month, I found a variety of cuisines and enjoyed many good meals. I walked everywhere - to the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Prospect Park, Prospect Park Zoo, and took Uber to Manhattan. I will definitely go back here!
For anyone wanting a nyc neighborhood experience, this location could not be better. It's comfortable, clean and quiet with lots of amenities in the neighborhood but convenient to all the rich culture nyc and Brooklyn has to offer. Marie-Line is a helpful and gracious hostess.
Marie-Line was very kind and did everything she said she would do with regard to check in. I got in a little late. I loved the neighborhood in Park Slope and it was very close to 7th Ave train station. Unfortunately, I wasn’t used to the cold and wish I had brought warmer clothes, because I got a raging cold. I love New York so much, and loved her neighborhood so much that I would definitely return. I would like to thank Marie-Line for her hospitality. ❤️
Our family of 4 (two local NYC adult children) enjoyed this home for Thanksgiving together. The space is just as described, very clean, well stocked and comfortable. The beds and linen/towels were all nice and that’s such a plus. The kitchen has all updated appliances making it easy to cook all our meals. Great location near Grand Army, Brooklyn Botanical and Prospect Park. A lot of shops and restaurants all around if it wasn’t a pandemic. Street parking wasn’t an issue the whole time. We had a great time and definitely recommend this listing.
