Punta Cana Cabeza de Toro Beach Hotels

"Resort was beautiful! We got Junior Suite with a swim out pool with pool views. We loved the room and the swim out pool! The staff did not seem very attentive and I don't recall seeing any of the restaurant/buffet host smile once. We got the elite service but wished we hadn't. The private beach for elite stated that it came it with bar service but in two hours we only saw the server once. We did get a bottle vodka with the elite package but we're only able to through half of it. Getting Ice from our butler and guest/room service was way more challenging than it needed to be. The two ice machines on the 2nd and 3rd floor above us were both not functional and instead of being sent on a wild goose chase for the third time we requested that ice be brought to our room. It never came.(Partly why didn't get through our Vodka) There were constant attempts to sell us an excursion both near the pools and on the beach. The beach was gorgeous! We enjoyed the food very much! Loved hanging out in the piano bar too! Wife said her coffees were great! "

"Absolut chaotisch schon beim check-in. Mindestens 6-7 Reihen Gäste versuchen zeitgleich einzuchecken und die Masse reißt nicht ab. Wir haben Stunden auf unser Zimmer gewartet. Insgesamt 4x habe ich mich erneut einreihen müssen. Wir sollten dann als Melia Gold Mitglied ein Upgrade und das gewünschte obere Etagen Zimmer bekommen. Wir erhielten genau das Gegenteil: EG Familienzimmer mit bereits eingebettetem Kinderbett. Die Ausstattung selbst war absolut schlecht und vor allem die Schränke und Schubladen hingen schief. Als wir einen Tisch im italienischen Restaurant reservieren wollten, war natürlich die Reservierungszeit schon um 4pm verstrichen. Das Essen im Steakrestaurant war ok, aber mein angebliches Filetsteak hatte lauter Sehnen. Das Frühstück dann typisch amerikanisch; die Spiegeleier und Kaffee ok, aber alles andere von teilweise unterirdischer Qualität, vor allem das Brot. Insgesamt haben wir die letzten Jahre noch nie so ein schlechtes und chaotisches Hotel gesehen. Wir sind als Vielreisende auch schon oft in spanischen Melia Hotels gewesen und waren immer sehr zufrieden. Auf Grund dieser Erfahrung und des damit verbundenen nicht stimmigen Preis-/Leistungsverhältnisses sind wir überaus enttäuscht."

"One of my children had a serious head injury at this hotel, which provides and unsafe environment for guests. The accident happened because an unsecured piece of furniture fell on my child. One staff member was helpful in the aftermath. Unfortunately the hotel refused to even offer a partial refund. Bottom line: Don’t go there with kids. It is dangerous."

"Checked 48 hours before arrival with property to confirm reservation. They confirmed. Upon arrival, after traveling almost 12 hours, we were told that they had overbooked and we would need to spend the night at their sister resort. The manager kept telling us how great the sister resort was and that we probably would just want to stay over there and not come back to Bakour. He promised us a bottle of rum, romantic dinner on the beach for our anniversary, blah blah blah. When the driver dropped us at the sister property I really felt like I was in a third world country. The lights were flickering in the hallways. The room was filthy. Sink was stained and dirty. The shower had an old, maybe water hydrant for shower. Bed was not much better. Tv was mounted upside down. We were actually afraid. I texted Bakour and told them to pick us up at 0800 in the morning. They did but then it took most of the day to get into a room and we did not get the room we reserved. The room we had had a second bath and it had mold in the corners of the shower. There was mold and rot at the bottom of the door frames. We never got our romantic dinner. Only three food options each day. Beach has a lot of seaweed. Not a 5 star property for sure. Staff was amazing. Johanna In the Asian restaurant was exceptional. Nelson was amazing. Danny Boy you are awesome. But property definitely not a 4 or 5 star. Met other travelers that had the same issue. Seems like a case of the classic bait and switch. "
