Overall we loved the house (it is not on the lake but we didn’t miss it because we were out a lot). Friendly neighbors, felt very safe, lots of folks walking and biking and dog walking. We did tell our host of a couple of things we noticed at the outset, which he offered to correct immediately (like we didn’t think the dishwasher worked) nothing serious just observations for improvement. We enjoyed the hot-tub and fire pit for s’mores and had a bbq. The beds and bedding were so comfy. We could all fit and spread out on the sofa, full of blankets and pillows to watch movies in the evening. Nearby was the go-carting, we did it twice!, and the Speedway to watch the car races was fun (bring earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones! - check their schedule online). We ate at local diners but noted they closed quite early so plan accordingly. We ate in the home quite a bit too since it had a gas range, oven and big fridge (all upstairs) to hold our haul from nearby grocers. There’s a small beach area a short walk away with trail area and picnic tables all to enjoy the lake, and a grassy area for frisbee and footie. Bring a couple of folding chairs from the fire pit area for the beach or find a shady tree with a lake view. There is parking too. End of the trip we did a big laundry wash and off we went. Just fyi, from Oakville area, we went to Toronto Zoo first, then up to the house, then on the way home we stopped at Canada’s Wonderland.
