Showed up for our stay but the hotel is completely closed until July 2025… nobody bothered to email or call us. In fact the week before we came we actually got a message that they were excited for our trip … literal locks on the door and a sign and the interior gutted

Needs a major overhaul

The location of the hotel is amazing. Everything else about it is terrible. It’s extremely run down and it was very dirty. Our room had dirt and hair all over the floor. The hallways were scuffed and the doors had black fingerprints all over them. Many repairs need to be made. They charge a $28 parking fee for your car to remain in an insecure parking lot per day. It’s not safe to leave valuable there, or in your room. There were cockroaches in the hallways.

We enjoyed our 1-night stay at The Plantation Resort. Staff was very nice and helpful. The pool was relaxing and the bar Manager, Shelly, poured delicious margaritas! Shelly was super sweet. We loved swimming with the manatees in Crystal River and we hope the staff is safe from the recent hurricane. This is an older property, but our room and bathroom was clean, had a mini-fridge, and we ate a delicious breakfast the next day on property.

I didn't like the fact that i saw a charge on my bank card without knowing there is basically a hidden fee for Parking/Ammenities. I dont understand why i am being charged to park where im staying and then amenities. Thats definitely a first time having to pay those fees, like had i known i would not park or use pool. Only thing that would hinder me from coming back.

When we checked in, our room was hot; the AC was running and back door was open. The rooms had dehumidifiers due to how old everything was and the ACs not running properly. MOLD! I left feeling disgusting and swearing to never return. I’ve been to The Plantation many times over the past 10 years and it’s beyond sad how downhill it has become. Truly a nightmare.

Needs a facelift

We checked in and got to our room on the 2nd floor which had a very musty odor. I went to wash my hands in the bathroom and felt a drop of water on my neck. I looked up to see that the ceiling was cracked and leaking. We reported this to the front desk and they changed our room. Now we weee on the 1st floor. The toilet had debris or stain in it. We told the front desk and they sent someone to check it. It seemed to be some kind of paper that had gotten stuck. We stepped outside to the patio and it was very untidy. The chairs were dusty and the small table dirty. We cleaned them and enjoyed a little rest before going out to the pool. The grounds were very pretty and you could tell that this place had been a beautiful resort once. It has a lot of catching up to do. The staff from front desk to tiki bar to maintenance were all great, which is why we overlooked some things. We washed up only using the sink because the bath tub surface was horrible. Room 128. Also they must have a very big issue with mold as there was a humidifier in the room. Interior doors leading from the different wings to the lobby were shabby. The rooms we saw seemed to have been newly decorated and very nice.

Storm stay

The service was amazing but we stayed during the storm so all facilities were flooded and our purpose for the trip (manatees) couldn’t go ahead. Not the hotels fault but due to this is couldn’t rate the facilities.
