Fine accommodations but odd area
The road to the camper was washed out, rutted and crumbling asphalt that took you from a residential neighborhood to the winding top of a hill. The camper itself was fine, cute even and clean. The location was concerning. The camper had campers in storage on either side of it. The other homes were campers that people were living in, older occupied and unoccupied mobile homes. The area looked run down and trash bags piled up in yards. It was quiet other than the neighbors peacocks which weren’t a bother. It certainly wasn’t an area that I was going to hangout outside. I tried to call and text the two numbers left by the owners but neither answered immediately when I had concerned and trying to decide to stay or leave. I sat in my car for over an hour debating if I should leave and find a hotel. As I was getting ready to leave, the owner called me and said they lived in a nearby camper. It made me feel a little better so decided to stay the first night and see how it went. It went fine. The stay was fine. The location and surrounding homes made me very uncomfortable. I’m used to campers and mobile homes so that wasn’t the reason for me uncomfortableness. It was the visional aspect of the area and the aloneness if something were to happen that was concerning especially being a single woman traveling alone. I couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to work but didn’t try to contact the owner again. For the price point and uneasy location, I wouldn’t stay here again. But like I said the camper was nice. Maybe if the advertisement explained the area and put the renter at ease, that would help. I didn’t like that I had the concerns and couldn’t immediately reach the hosts. It caused unnecessary anxiety. I would suggest matting or pavers leading to the camper to keep traffic out of the grass and keep dirt out of the camper.
