“I stayed on the beachside property this time. No renovations on this side, opposed to Mia's buildings across the street. Tiny unit. Cramped bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. Unit was clean inside.”

“Very impersonal. Check in/out is virtual, they were fairly nice, it was hard to understand what they were saying. The shower had dirty footprints and a bottle of soap left in it. One of the washcloths was dirty with what looked like the same dirt from the footprints in the shower. The toilet had a partial strip of paper that should be broken off before the first use by new tenants, but it was just set over the top to make it look like it was cleaned. “So comfortable, quiet, and clean. Bed was super comfy. Easy access, easy parking and a super short walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again!”

“We had an ocean front room with the historic wood paneling. It was charming and comfortable. I loved having the ocean access. The only complaint came from my teenage companion. She was surprised at the lack of outlets for charging her many electronic devices. Myself, this was to be expected and I didn't stress over it! I will definitely stay here again when visiting the OBX. Thanks so much!”

“Room for the most part was clean and comfortable. The window was very dirty however and since this was an ocean front room, we were hoping for a clearer view of this amenity. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. We had to use two different elevators to access our room on the fourth . There was some type of plumbing work being done in the hallways and the walls were torn up and pipes exposed. Carpeting in the hallways and the stairwells were very sandy.”

“They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.”
