On first entering it felt a little clinical and having stayed in boathouses before we were a little disappointed. However the boathouse grew on us and the sun sets were amazing to watch over the lake. The boathouse has everything you need except wifi or any DVD’s to watch. The TV speakers are not great either and a new TV in the living area would help. The shower is amazing also. All in all now one of our favourite places to stay due to the above. Fabulous private location on Lake Windermere with stunning views from the living area.

Fabulous private location on Lake Windermere with stunning views from the living area. The underfloor heating meant we were never cold. Fantastic location, sunset directly opposite the lounge! Shocked that in this day and age there was no wi-fi. Very quiet location. Spacious property. It wasn't an issue for us, but there were lots of spiders in residence and cobwebs had not been removed. A beautiful location.

A beautiful location. Modern and bright accommodation. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. Due to Covid19 we were unsure of going away at all. We were very happy using the private jetty to kayak and paddle board, waving to passing boats, feeding the ducks and swans and staying mostly self contained in a very comfortable and spacious Spout Crag. Plenty to see and do within 1/2 hr drive too. Amazing walks and countryside. Our 8 year old son loved his holiday. We hope to return soon. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This is a special location which lived up to our expectations, with the view from the glass extensio

This is a special location which lived up to our expectations, with the view from the glass extension to the lounge being its ace card. The windows open almost the full length which provide uniterrupted views across the Lake and beyond and the most amazing sunsets. We would not hesitate in returning to this lovely place. The only addition we would recommend is WiFi, as there is good mobile signal and so WiFi should be easy to add into the cottage. The second bedroom is not big enough to take two adults, or two teenagers, so recommend if you are taking four, allow for smaller children to be in the second bedroom or one larger one. This cottage is expensive but the special location makes it worth every penny. The cottage is not accessible for anyone who struggles with mobility but that is well described in the overall description. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Beautiful location and lovely house that the owner has clearly put a lot of money into in the past. The accomodation could be better equipped and the furniture is showing signs of wear. The cleaning staff whoever they are, really need to be more thorough as this really lets the house down. It was obvious to us when we first walked in that it hadn't been cleaned properly i.e the oven and cooking utensils etc, which is a shame because the owner is putting her trust in these people. Having said that, we enjoyed our holiday and would return in the future.

The boathouse is in a lovely location and we had a great week.

The boathouse is in a lovely location and we had a great week. However, general cleanliness, lack of basic supplies and broken equipment let it down and it therefore did not compare favourably with other luxury cottages we have stayed in. The view is the best feature yet the windows and balcony glass had handprints and smears which detracted from it. We also like to leave the car behind when on holiday and walk but this was not possible from the Boathouse as the road is very busy and narrow with no pedestrian pathway.
