Great location- easy walk to all attractions and the Bosporus River/ferry system. Neighbor restaurant Ottoman Kitchen, were extremely helpful, the young men working there helped two "old" ladies by carrying our luggage up and back down the two long flights of stairs. Amazing stay. If you could - directions or explanations in English 4 washer and dryer would be helpful.

The location was terrific right in the heart of some of the major attractions. The property is rather tired and in need of some basic maintenance. The steps to the property are extremely steep and long(42 )steps. Overall I was very happy with the property but as stated the steps are an issue especially with someone with mobility issues. Excellent apartment in the heart of the action.

Perfectly positioned and well equipped apartment, close to major sites and public transport.. No complaints of any sort. Well worth the price.

Great location to stay

Great location, close to main tourist sites, good restaurants, supermarkets, local very friendly, overall good experience. One main criticism is the stairs we had to go up 2 flights of stairs with 4 children and 6 suitcases not ideal.

Perfect location

Second time in Istanbul, first time in Sultanahmet area. This apartment is the perfect location, multiple choices for restaurants to walk to. All attractions are an easy walk. Multiple mini markets, lots os kitties to love on. Highly recommend this location. We had a great stay. VRBO host communication was great.

Misleading Listing

The description must be from 15 years ago. The pictures, appliance description - all very outdated. Has ant and roach problems. Hole in the floor, have to stand on a rickety chair to reach the dryer. Only real accurate part are it's 3 bedrooms and near the Blue Mosque. Clearly VRBO doesn't keep up on the ads posted. This place is tired and needs basic upgrades just to be safe. For those with medical devices-area is subject to randon power loss - you only are told that after you arrive.

Un séjour très agréable

L'appartement est idéalement situé pour visiter plusieurs grands lieux touristiques car il est très proche de la basilique Sainte-Sophie, la mosquée bleue, le palais de Topkapı et la citerne-basilique (5 à 10mn à pied). Nous étions quatre dans cet appartement pendant une semaine, et nous étions très au large ; toutefois, avec une seule salle de bains (douche), ce serait moins agréable pour des groupes plus importants. La décoration intérieure est agréable et n'est pas impersonnelle comme dans de nombreux appartements modernes. Les lits et linges de maison étaient impeccablement propres. La cuisine était raisonnablement propre, mais sans plus. J'ai dû tuer un cafard près de l'évier. Ce n'est pas très agréable mais il n'est pas forcément facile d'éliminer ce type d'insectes dans de tels appartement anciens. Le retrait de la clé à l'arrivée dans le magasin du rez-de-chaussée qui reste ouvert tard est très pratique, mais j'ai eu quelques sueurs froides dans les jours précédents notre arrivée car je ne recevais pas de réponse à mes messages (sur VRBO) et à mes SMS aux numéros de téléphone indiqués sur le site VRBO. Finalement, c'est par un appel vocal sur un de ces numéros la veille de notre arrivée que j'ai pu avoir confirmation que nous étions bien attendus et du mode de remise des clés. La personne que j'ai eue au téléphone était très aimable. Le jour de notre départ, nous avons pu laisser nos bagages avant de les reprendre plus tard et aller à l'aéroport.

Great apartment in the tourist center

The apartment itself was awesome! 3 bedrooms with 2 toilets is hard to find in any old city center. The price and quality of the apartment are hard to beat. The location was great for the proximity to all the main tourist sites. We also liked having a small grocery shop right under the apartment. We visited the owner at least once a day the entire trip. The only downside is that all the restaurants on the street are very pricey touristy spots. To find some real local restaurants you have to walk away from the area. Overall a good apartment.

Perfect Location

I don't think there could be a better place to stay for a person's first visit to Istanbul. It is in walking distance to all of the major sights to see in Sultanahmet, and there are restaurants and shops at the foot of the stairs. Akbiyik Street, where the apartment is located, is very busy, but since the apartment is on the second floor (third floor U.S.), we were far enough from the noise so as not to be disturbed by it. The windows were great at muffling the noise, and we were never awakened by the call to prayer at around 4:30 am. The apartment itself is clean and well--organized, with plenty of space to be comfortable. I cannot comment on the kitchen since we never used it (why would you while in Istanbul?!), and the beds were comfortable. Elif was great with communication, and was able to arrange convenient airport transfers for us. If we come back to Istanbul we will want to stay at this apartment.

Asked to be moved

Lauren, both apartments were not good. We moved to a first floor apartment but bathroom leaked, wall was open for pipe repair. Water heater did not work properly, was difficult to arrange the water in shower. There was a very small TV in living room. Your price was more than double of the equal places around. Places were mispresented in VRBO web site.

Sleepless in Istanbul

Perfect location! Overall, the property was very comfortable and cozy; Clean and white extra towels and bed linen. Dish soap, washing powder, toilet paper, paper towel, cleaning supplies. Romantic bedroom with a lovely glow from the red curtains in the mornings.Plenty of coat hangers.Clean and crisp cotton sheets and lovely Turkish bedspreads. Very nice hosts who responded to our requests in a timely way. Elif"s father came to sort out the drain and hot water issues within minutes and a frying pan was delivered almost immediately upon request. He was an absolute gentleman. Thank you so much since my husband loves eggs for breakfast. This is a fantastic location!. We arrived late at night and Elif and Marco were gracious enough to meet us at the apartment. We were very grateful. We stayed for three weeks but we had two problems: Sadly, the kitchen was very dirty and took hours to clean. Toilet and shower also needed clean. We spend our lives traveling so are used to these things, but disappointing. Nothing bleach and elbow grease can't fix. BIG problem were the young men in the apartment below who made significant noise EVERY SINGLE NIGHT during the quiet hours for the entire three weeks. Marco and Elif did their best to contact the owners of the apartment but nothing worked. Loud shouting for hours on end, doors slamming throughout the night, glass smashing, burning of "stuff" out on the stairway and coming into our apartment, men coming and going all night. We loved the apartment. We loved Istanbul. We loved hearing the Call to Prayer. The young men below are spoiling the apartment for Elif and Marco to rent. We loved your place but we were exhausted after three weeks without a good night's sleep. We know you did your best. Thanks for the offer of a move but we really didn't want to move two more times within a week. Hope you can get those guys sorted. We know it wasn't your fault. Thanks for all the guide books. They were of great help. We will return and would stay here again if its quiet at night. Good luck and thank you. Fantastic location! Couldn't be better!

Comfortable and convenient

Spacious and comfortable apt close to blue mosque, bazaar most sites within 15-20 minutes. Quaint restaurants close by. We love definately stay here again. Our host were very prompt in getting back to us and met us at the appt. to make checking so easy. Thank you for sharing your home with us

Fantastic location

Elif's apartment is really nice and conveniently located. It is only a five-minute walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Topkapi Palace and the tramline 1. The apartement has a fully functional kitchen, two bathrooms and all the kitchenware we need. The 3 bedroom are large and very cozy. Elif was really welcoming and helpful by providing us with an extra bed for the baby. It was a great stay overall and we would definitely recommend it!
