The best thing I loved about the property was the customer service. The nice lady at the check-in desk (I can't remember her name) but she was SUPER helpful and friendly. The amenities were WONDERFUL. The only thing I didn't like were the pillows, but that's my own fault for not bringing my own! I WILL be back. And everyone was friendly, especially to an old man like me. SIX STARS OUT OF FIVE!

I arrived for a booked 4-night stay. The “resort” was not as advertised on hotels.com. I have been a loyal customer of “hotels.com” and this was not a “fabulous” accommodation. It was an old two-story wooden building with exterior doors and wooden stairs to get to the second floor. It was a gravel parking lot. I spoke with the hotel clerk and RVA manager who said “no refund at all”. I tried speaking with “hotels.com” 3 times who were negotiating with the property. I did not stay at this property and left the area within 20 minutes. Do not book this property.

Communication very poor, I left my Drivers license at the front desk at check in, they had it for 2 days without contacting me. Then we asked to extend our stay, said they would check and call back. Never heard from them! Other then that, we loved our stay, great location, the resort was clean and friendly, and a good value.

Hotel was a great location. Right on a private beach. I did some fishing and got some bonnet head sharks. Only wish the rooms were more sound proof, we can people talking from the room next to us.

Enjoyable Escape from Reality

We had a great stay and hope to visit again soon! We rented a smaller cottage and it was a tight fit for 2 adults and 2 teens, but we made it work. Loved that we were only steps to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and there were always plenty of lounge chairs available. The pool was refreshing after a day on the beach.

My husband planned this week to get away and get some well needed rest that is impossible to get at home. We found the Silver Sands to be just the ticket. It had everything we could ask for. Well stocked kitchen was great and the refrigerator with ice maker made things very easy. We had an issue with the sliding doors going out the back. Suppose they needed new rollers which have probably been replaced by now. They had to call someone other than their normal maintenance crew which we witnessed working diligently on the beautiful grounds. We found the floors a bit gritty from day one but they did have a broom available and since you nearly fell out of your bed onto the beautiful beach, it was acceptable to us. The pool was beautiful saline pool and very good size. The people staying there as well as our host were always pleasant, friendly and helpful. We had an amazing time and can't wait to be able to go back.

My husband and I stayed at the Silver Sands back in 2007 when we got married, as did our wedding guests. Fast forward all these years later, and we went back for another stay at this lovely resort. First of all, Clint provided us with exceptional service, which is part of why we're continually loyal to this hotel over all of the other options. Secondly, the beach is beautiful and private, so you can relax and enjoy in peace. Plus the rooms are always sparkling clean, and the beds are super comfy. If you want to enjoy the splendor of Longboat Key in casual elegance without breaking the bank, this is your best bet. As a Florida local, this is my stamp of approval.

Had a great time, exactly what we wanted. Walked out our door and right to the beach or the pool. Clean, smaller in scale so small community atmosphere. Right in the middle of everywhere we wanted to go!

Two nights on the Gulf

The apartment was roomy, clean and was as listed. It had an easy walk over to the Gulf. We used the sofa as a bed as well as the bedroom. Nice kitchen area. It was very comfortable. Shopping was close by and I would recommend this place for a “beach stay.”

The room was dark with only one small window. The window unit could barely cool the room. The bed sheets were full of sand. The blow dryer didn’t work. The pillows smelled. The shower leaked. Should I continue? Not impressed.
