The mystical Holy Island of Lindisfarne is just a short drive away, accessible via a tidal causeway and home to an ancient priory, dramatic castle and peaceful beaches. Nearby Goswick Beach offers a wide stretch of golden sand for long walks and beach games, along with a popular golf club boasting sea views. Berwick-upon-Tweed is close by, with riverside walks, independent shops and galleries, and impressive Elizabethan town walls. Head to Bamburgh for its iconic castle and vast beach, or continue to Seahouses for boat trips to the Farne Islands — a chance to spot puffins, seals and even dolphins.
Step through the front door into a welcoming porch, ideal for storing muddy boots and coats after a day of exploring.
