The property was exactly as photographed. It was cute & comfy. We had adjoining cabins, so our 4 grandkids could go safely back and forth between the cabins via the back doors and attached deck which had 2 picnic tables. We had requested adjoining cabins when we booked. Surprisingly, the cabins had tons of electrical outlets and hooks to hang things on. There were 2 AC units & 2 ceiling fans in each cabin that worked very well. We had plenty of towels, lines & pillows. It was about a 2 minute walk to the park, across a parking lot - very convenient. We would not have had to ever leave the resort except for ending up with a sick kiddo and we could not find kids liquid Tylenol in the office or the park gift shops. Considering how many kids/babies are there at any given time, that might be something the park should add - and guests should come prepared for the unexpected. The one negative...there is some small electrical device near the floor in the living rooms to the left of the inside of the front doors. I never noticed it until my foot got caught in the loose cord that was on the floor near the couch and I took a hard tumble within the first 30 minutes of checking in! Whatever the device is ... in the other cabin, the cord was coiled up and secured so it was not a trip hazard. Please beware! Other than that-it was all good.

It was amazing! My family and I loved it! The cabin had enough room for all our things,and the kids loved the bunk beds!And all they wanted to do was go on all of the rides and water slides!

No one was there to let us in

We were driving from Chicago for a nice weekend in the area. We got lost, had no signal so I tried calling to try to get directions, no one answered. So I thought I'll just figure it out and arrive. When we got there we had no idea where to check in, it was just past 11 slightly, and apparently we couldn't check in past 11 because they were closed. We drove around trying to find someone, as we keep calling and even called orbitz to see if they could get a hold of the hotel and nothing.. So we had no choice but to head back to Chicago at midnight, which is 1 hr and 43 mins away, wonderful! Then to make it worse, we tried calling to get our money back or a credit of some sort. And the hotel would not give us any refund, and only give us a credit for one month. That is crazy, it not my fault that no one was answering the phone, when we were trying to notify them that we were lost and running late. What were we suppose to do sleep in the car until they opened the next morning. And to make it worse all nearby hotels were booked due to a wedding and a college weekend. Horrible absolutely horrible, worst customer service. At least give us credit and a chance to use it, one year or more than one month. My husband and I work and he rarely has weekends off. I am not going to come back by myself. I do not recommend this hotel. Find someplace else that is friendlier and more available, especially if you work till 5pm or later and are driving down for a nice weekend away. Don't do it.

Quaint cabin overlooking the lake.

We stayed in the Ideal Cabins for a week. It was clean and cozy. Beds weren't as comfortable as home, but its what you'd expect in a lake cabin. There was easy access to the water for boat owners and the grounds were kept clean. There was a pool for cabin dwellers but it was staffed all the time so it was hard to plan when to swim. The cabin was footsteps away from the amusement park entrance, which the kids loved of course.
