Keep Manhattan, Just Give Me That Countryside

Enjoy our Windmill Cabin, which offers updated style with quiet, countryside living. This 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is a perfect getaway. Use the Wi-fi to stay connected or leave the world behind and enjoy the serenity and quiet.

Watch DVDs or streaming services on the big screen TV. Or move to the outdoor patio and watch the ‘really big’ natural spaces. The kitchen is stocked with utensils, cookware and spices. Laundry room equipped with washer/dryer and big enough for storage needs.

Mornings are brilliant sunrises and sunsets are colorful events followed by a canopy of a billion stars. This is no boring flatland. Hike the hills and valleys and you are likely to spot Whitetail deer, rabbits, turkeys, raccoons, roadrunners and more.

Improve your accuracy at the Archery Range (200 yards from the house). Hike or take the short drive (about 1 ½ mi) to the Recreation Center. Test your skill with horseshoes, shoot some pool or best your friend at ping pong or many other games. The swimming pool is cool relief on a hot day. Recreation Center is only for guests of our two houses.

Enjoy the entire house, the Recreation Center, the Swimming Pool and the hiking trails on 486 acres of hills, ravines and creeks.

We live on another section of the ranch and will assist you by phone, email or in person if needs arise.

Bluebonnets and other colorful wildflowers abound in this area. Chart your own course or use the ‘Bluebonnet Trails’ guide to map a route.

Go left or right and in 9 miles be cooling off in the Llano River. Another 9 miles to the left and you can explore the historic town of Mason. This small town has plenty of history and 2 museums. Antiques and collectibles or just plain ‘stuff’ can be found in multiple shops. Mason boasts a number of restaurants and a movie theater. Time it right and you may also enjoy a music concert in the historic Odeon Theater.

London Grocery and Grill is 18 miles from gate. Select one of the five tables and get ready for some good grub. The German town of Fredericksburg is a great shopping destination or just stroll the sidewalks and enjoy the many restaurants in town. Kerrville is in the same area. This area is also home to countless wineries where you can lounge and enjoy the best of Texas wines.

Girls weekend retreat

This property was perfect for our friends birthday retreat. It was peaceful and quiet. The host was super responsive. I would highly recommend this place as a nice, quiet a stay, especially if you want to disconnect.

Location was great but cabin cleanliness was very subpar

The location and the surrounding area of the cabin/property was peaceful and that's was the only good part of this trip. The cabin cleanliness or lack of cleanliness was a totally different story. I will start will all the dishes, utensils and glasses that were greasy/dirty. We had to wash everything before we used it. The stovetop looked like someone had previously cooked and was wiped off with only a napkin. The bed sheets, pillow cases and comforters all had blood stains, YES BLOOD STAINS, that we had to strip the beds and wash everything! When we removed the pillow cases, we noticed that the pillows all had nasty large drool/spill stains on them. The shower had lukewarm water (the control arm did not let you make it any hotter). If you want to enjoy the firepit, the owner recommends you purchase "large" bundles of firewood for $20 each which is a ripoff since it's just a regular $10 bundled you can purchase elsewhere. They promoted a gas and a charcoal grill but I would not cook anything on those two unless you want to eat rust with your meal. The gas grill was rusted throughout all of the inside parts. Same goes for the charcoal grill. Same goes with the promoted DVD player that is not plugged in and you are not able to plug in since there is no HDMI plug on it. We tried to enjoy our stay but having to clean the cabin and wash all the linen defeated the purpose of a weekend getaway. I highly recommend you stay away until the owners do a better job cleaning the cabin.

Amazing Country Getaway

Our family and dogs had a great week at the Windmill cabin. No one was staying at the other cabin so it felt as though we truly had the whole ranch to ourselves. We breifly met the owners and ranch hand, all were very kind and let us do our own thing. Rec room is a fully stocked community room with kitchen, games, and pool. Loved exploring and will definitely be back with more friends and/or family!

Came up for along weekend for my husband’s birthday we truly enjoyed the beauty and quietness of this cabin . We brought our two dogs and they enjoyed our long walks. Perfect Getaway from the City!

This house was the perfect getaway! As soon as we drove in, I felt like I was back on my deer lease and the second you get to the house, you realize it is so much more! Beautiful views and the most amazing sunsets! Billy, I cant tell you how much it means to us that we could bring our dogs. They had the best time chasing lizards around the house and playing down at the Llano. The house is fully furnished and stocked, so leave the camp box at home. They cover it all, to ensure you have all the comforts of home. We cannot wait to come back and explore the prooerty more one day!
