Everything was conveniently located... hotel, food close to beach and water.

The staff was extremely nice & only 15 min from the airport. Whoever the recruiter/hiring manger is did a great job. I did hear from a few people that they are under staffed but it didn't show too much. It's nice that there is an app to download to do reservations. The rooms were beautiful and I love that every room has an ocean view. Unfortunately at each end of the resort the smell of the seaweed is very strong. It's obvious that they are trying to contain it but that is nature. The salt water pool is large but super slippery like tarp. I will say that the resort is long so be prepared to walk the 15 min walk from one end to the next. I personally prefer resorts that are large because I tend to get a lot of exercise. The drinks no matter where I went were strong so that was also a plus. The food at Black Iron was the best. The other dinner places were just ok. We were told that the French restaurant had a Michelin chef however that food was bland. Also the hibachi was probably the most boring hibachi experience I've ever had. The reservations were a little difficult to get and another guest told me that she had made reservations prior to arrival. The options at the buffet and the room service were the best. There are so many upcharges. From the timeshare presentations that "aren't timeshares" to the escape room and more. We sat in a 2 hour presentation to buy vacation weeks. They offer a gift and everything. There's 5 people you have to say no to.

Food was ehhhhhhhh- 3/5 at best. Most other couples did not enjoy the food and you would see everyone hesitant that was sitting around you at the restaurants. It was a shame because the presentation was 5/5. The “manager” of the steakhouse; at least that’s the title he gave himself gave me an issue because I wanted to sit next to my wife rather than across from her while we ate dinner as “I could not do that” since it was a big small table and I was in “their way”. Gave me an attitude which was uncalled for. No entertainment other than “water activity’s” which with one show being shown the 4 nights I was there which was “just a show”, nothing special. With that said; I had no other bad experience other than the steak house and the food being blaaaaaah…. With it being extremely clean; it would be the only reason I’d try a RIU again. But one bad service experience ruins can stain everything else,
