Beach Vacation - Large Group

The house worked well for a large group like we had. Location was great. The house is in need of some maintenance. Painting, pressure washing & deck replacement. We also had trouble with the AC not working well in the bottom floor.

The horses and the house

We had an incredible stay at the Mark Twain Oceanfront home from March 2 to March 4. The property was spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for our group getaway. The amenities were exactly what we were looking for—plenty of room for everyone to spread out, a fully stocked kitchen, a private pool and hot tub, and direct beach access just steps from the back door.One of the most magical parts of our stay was seeing the wild horses right outside the property! It truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience to watch them roam freely along the dunes and shoreline. It added such a peaceful and surreal vibe to our mornings and evenings.The house itself was clean and well-equipped, and we appreciated the multiple entertainment areas and the convenience of the elevator, especially for our older guests. The ocean views from the deck were absolutely breathtaking—we could’ve spent all day out there.

Probably the best yet!

We didn’t have a vacation planned and this house popped up when searching and I ended up booking it 3 weeks before our trip (there must have been a cancellation and we lucked out!)! We had 4 definite families when booking and ended up adding 4 more! There multiple who never met before but by the end of the week, we were all family! There was so much space that no one ever felt cramped. My niece who is 9 is non-verbal and like that of an infant and the house met the family’s needs. We had issues with bedrooms on one side of the first level wing and maintenance was out soon after. They also took care of everything else on my list. We were supposed to have 2 beach parking passes but there was only one, but we made do. We could not have asked for better accommodations and would love to come back all together!

From the moment our family arrived at Seaside Weddings & Retreats, we knew we were in for a magical experience. The "Families to Forever" retreat not only lived up to its enchanting name but exceeded our every expectation.First and foremost, the setting of this retreat is breathtaking. Nestled right by the sea, the views are panoramic and utterly serene—perfect for both romantic moments and family fun. The grounds are meticulously maintained, with lush gardens that bloom vibrant flowers and pathways that invite leisurely strolls.The accommodations were top-notch. Our suite was spacious, beautifully decorated with coastal chic decor, and provided all the comforts of home and more. Every morning, we were greeted with the soothing sounds of waves and a stunning sunrise that we watched from our private balcony.What truly sets Seaside Weddings & Retreats apart is their impeccable service. The staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. They were attentive without being intrusive, managing to anticipate our needs before we even had to ask.The activities available were perfect for all ages. The kids had a blast at the beach, engaging in organized games, while the adults enjoyed some relaxation at the spa and evening cocktails by the firepit. The highlight, of course, was the beautiful vow renewal ceremony they arranged for us. It was heartfelt and beautifully orchestrated against the backdrop of the setting sun over the ocean.

Awesome property

The property is amazing. We saw wild horses and wild pigs. The pool is fabulous and the beach beautiful. Driving on the sand was scary at first but we figured it out. Be sure to air down your tires.

AMAZING place!!!

This house is absolutely breathtaking!!! The home is massive and was perfect for our large family reunion. The views of the ocean were to die for. Everyone kept saying how much they loved the property and that we should come again next year. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable beach vacation to spend with a large group, this is the perfect spot. We do have a few helpful suggestions for future guests. First, we recommend requesting a welcome package from the owner which provides starter packages of toilet paper, kitchen towels, and toiletries. Second, while the house requires a 4x4 vehicle due to a short drive you must take on the beach, we found that a regular SUV with AWD and deflated tires at 15 psi worked perfectly for the 5-minute drive on the sand. Finally, it takes about 15 minutes to drive to the nearest grocery stores and restaurants, but we found the drive to be breathtaking and well worth the effort.

Exceptional Experience - Best stay ever!!!

The property we stayed at exceeded our expectations. The house was spacious, private, and had amazing views, making it feel like our own personal resort. Our family and friends had the best time vacationing together in the spectacular house.. We were totally impressed with each and every part of this home and all the extra amenities. The second floor was particularly impressive with its event space and large kitchen, perfect for gatherings. While we were initially concerned about the requirement for a 4x4, we found that a regular SUV with AWD and deflated tires at 15psi worked perfectly, and the 5-minute drive on the sand was a beautiful and unique experience that we highly recommend. It was well worth the 15-20 minute drive to get groceries and visit restaurants, as it allowed us to fully appreciate the beauty of Outer Banks. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable vacation experience. The staff was fabulous and so easy to work with. This was one of our best vacations ever. I recommend it 100%.

The Best views in the Outer Banks!

We loved our stay at "The Mark Twain" home in Outer Banks, amazing property! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the grandeur and classic feel of the Outer Banks, combined with all the modern amenities you could ask for. The 18 huge bedrooms were perfect for our large family gathering, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. The gourmet kitchen was a dream, with everything we needed to cook up some great meals during our stay. They had reverse osmosis water which saved all the water bottles and made it environmentally friendly for us. The indoor lounges were the perfect spot for us to gather and spend time together, with TVs, pool table, piano, gas fireplaces, and more. The private pool, hot tub, and pool house with a bar were a big hit with everyone in our group, and we spent many hours lounging on the multiple decks with ample seating and incredible ocean views. The private access to the beach via an elevated boardwalk was a nice touch, and we even saw the wild horses on our way down to the sand. Overall, our stay at "The Mark Twain" was nothing short of spectacular, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing beach vacation rental home in Outer Banks, NC. The reservation process was seamless, and the property management team was extremely helpful and responsive to any questions or needs we had during our stay. We cannot wait to come back and create more cherished beach vacation memories at "The Mark Twain." 5 stars all around!

Best Time Ever!

We had an amazing stay at “The Mark Twin” home in Outer Banks. Despite the initial challenge of the 4 wheel drive , we were provided excellent instructions and a video on how to park our non-4x4 vehicles and deflate/inflate our Torres, make the process super easy and enjoyable. My family highly recommends these unique homes to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the grandeur and classic ambiance of the Outer Banks combined with modern amenities. The 18 spacious bedrooms accommodated our large family gathering perfectly, and the gourmet kitchen was a dream for cooking meals. We appreciated the environmentally friendly reverse osmosis water system and the indoor lounges provided a comfortable space for us to relax and enjoy each others company with amenities such as TVs, pool table, piano and gas fireplaces. The private pool, hot tub, and pool house with a bar were a big hit with everyone. We spent hours lounging on the multiple decks with breathtaking ocean views. We even had a chance encounter with wild horses on our way to the private access beach. Perfect for a wedding!!

We had a small wedding ceremony at the Mark Twain. Overall a good experience! Had a few things that went wrong, but the property manager made everything right! Would love to go again!
