“I am really not sure why/how this hotel is rated exceptional, but it is far from it! It is totally outdated and bathroom is terrible. The hotel was deserted (not sure why), the beach was small and rocky; TV didn’t work and is a super small; AC either blasted high or low and the controls didn’t work. Even despite being given the best room in hotel, these were issues. Saving grace was view of ocean from room, but low value for the high price! Disappointed!!”

“I paid quite a bit to stay there. I think I paid as much, if not more than the Hotel Westin, next door. The Westin looked amazing, because I checked it out. My room at the Playa Azul smelled of mold. I was disappointed.”

“Yes, stocked enough in the room. A robe would be nice as well as more towels. All was wonderful though, property beautiful with all the plants inside too. The size of the property was perfect; good was great for what i tried at lunch. Drinks and staff very very good ”

“The only complaint I have about the facility was the beds. Sat on concrete pads and were worn out making it feel like you were sleeping on the concrete. Did not have a good nights sleep our entire stay because I was constantly waking up from my body being sore from sleeping on a concrete pad.”

“There's a 7/11 dowstairs for anything you might need , 10 min from the flag or the clock plaza, restaurants, stores, icecream, local vendors all within walking distance. AC working great kept the room comfortable. Clean rooms Hotel offers coffee, hot water , croissant with butter and jelly and they'll bring a tray to tour room every morning at the time you decide. There is a pool but was too busy to go try it. Overall I recomend it.”

“Hotel Mary Carmen is a beautiful hotel which exceeded our expectations! Location is safe, quiet, very walkable (5min from the ferries, 1min from the plaza), and easy to find upon arrival. We loved the old-fashioned style with shared living spaces, and the garden and turtles. We appreciated the free water refill jugs on each floor and the first aid kits free for use. Our room was large (we got a free upgrade) and clean, had great wifi, quiet and functional AC unit, tidy bathroom, and good water……

“The pool is extremely small and the beach location out front isn't really swimable. The location in yown next to everything was nice!”

“Very nice rooms and well located. Areas of improvement could be 1) better tv channels, no us channels, very little in English -add Fox News. 2) bathroom has no door, more privacy exiting shower, 3) ice machines and laundry 4) beds are shorter than us standard 5) adding microwave would be nice ”
